School Board Passes Resolution Opposing Truck Stop at Exit 24

The Washington County, Va., School Board and a county supervisor now oppose a controversial truck stop proposed for the Exit 24 area of Interstate 81.

Exactly. Perhaps if the children in school can focus on the teacher instead of the commotion going on at the truck stop, they can get a better education and not have to work in a truck stop when they get out! I don't understand why you people think that an establishment (such as a truck stop or Lowes) is going to be the "answer to all of our job woe worries". Please! They offer low paying wages, little or no insurance, no REAL job security, and will destroy one of the only towns worth living in in Southwest VA.

Once again this is just delaying what is going to eventually happen. With the hospital going in its only a few years before everything starts creeping up that way. Prepare yourself, its going to happen.

cant wait to see all the changes maybe at least the we can put some of the dead beats out to work and I am also talkin about these kids in high school makeing babies right and left and then turn around and bum money from another kid whoes working his ass off for the things in life he wants and I just wantto let some of these up-up parnets its your children doing it to. If money getting tight put there ass out to work if for nothing eles to make them a better person.

Ur right, the new truck stop isn't going to be the answer to all the joblessness & the piss poor economy!!! Legalize marijuana... it's a hell of a cash crop, bet that would make for plenty of jobs!
