So your saying is that if this group hadn't asked Palin to go with them, she would not of had a clue about what is going on out there, and helping to put a band-aid on the problem. come on they need more then just a few days worth of food.

Alaska should look into solar can heater. Its cheep, and can be home made.
The technology heats the air with sun light. The heated air can then be used to heat your home. To improve the the solar heater you can attach a sterling engine to get electricity or create underground heat storage tanks. Alaska can also take advantage of the volcanoes by using the heat from the volcano to melt ice and create electricity. http://www.youtube.com/watch ... Tony |

I've heard it said that the most dangerous man is he who has nothing to lose. Thank you to Samaritan's Purse and our Governor who are doing something to avert a true disaster. In this case giving our nourishment for the body. Otherwise we might be seeing unthinkable horrors as someone who has no hope and nothing to lose takes matters into his own hand.

Where was the governor last summer when her advisors were predicting this catastrophe? Many people in Alaska have been asking for the state's help, but it took an outsider, Franklin Graham, to get her attention. There are many other organizations that have been working for weeks in the villages distributing food and fuel.

Is it appropriate for a reputable media source to support Samaritan's Purse (a rather dodgy "Christian" outfit) as you appear to do with your link?
Would it not be more appropriate to link to a non-denominational organization, such as the Alaska Food Bank, that has been on the ball with respect to this crisis for much longer? Or how about a link to Jay Ramras' office? He has been on this issue even longer than the food bank. Pitiful grandstanding from the Gov and her dominionist supporters does not disguise the fact that she has been slow and ineffectual in her response. |

Samaritian's purse, lost its charible standing with the Better Business Bureau in Jan. If you REALLY want to help the Villages and not line someone's pockets go to:

Palin was warned of this over six months ago. Why is she going on a "learning" mission now? High fuel prices are not some recent development, nor is the failure of the salmon fishery on which so many depend.
Long before Samaritan's Purse came along, individuals and groups have been organising their own airlifts of food, often struggling with a lack of support from the State in the process. So little State assistance has been forthcoming that even Republican legislators like Jay Ramras have expressed their frustration with how hard it is to get State resources allocated to this problem. For four months during this crisis, Governor Palin has left the post of Rural Advisor vacant. Why did the last one resign? Because she couldn't even get Palin to meet with her - not even once in her ten months in the job. Palin would not need to be learning now if she had just been listening at any time in the last year, but hopefully she can and Franklin Graham can learn something from the many who have been addressing this problem for some time now. |

the whole alaska system is set up like that. set up to die off - so why help. how is it in less then 50 years alaskans own so little of their land, they need permission to do anything. they cannot gget jobs at their own NATIVE corporations. and they are so stupid they are lab rats at their OWN hospital & don't even know it. got to wonder why the federal goveernment is so interested. you cant help but seize the moment useless sheep will sell not land & culture but their future generations. i'm not even going to bring up Alaskas Pornstar Palin. just look at stevens, whom practically get a new house. the murkowskis, whom 'owned' alaskas political systems (corrupt bastards!). the famous ebay jet. beggage (purposely spelt wrong) who 'ran the city great!' until the day he left early & the deficit magically appeared. if the representers that that f$#%ed up you gotta wonder about those whom got them elected. i guess that would make alaskans the lowest denominator of life!!
