I've driven past that old school (south of Terril) at the intersection of Hwy N14 and 300th street for years and always wondered about it. Anybody know what the school name is and when it was open...or when it closed? Looks like it's been empty for decades.

The school was called Lake Township Consolidated school. Or, Lake Center for short. It had it's last graduating class in 1962. About five years later it was closed for good. The kids all went on to Terril school. I believe if you put Lake Center School into search you will find more information.

It was open until 1976 and was the elementary school for Terril. I was in the last class, then they moved all the students to the main school in town. Mr. Bengston was the principal. From the school building to the corner was a a baseball field for recess. I hope it helps.
