Yeah right keep up with Parkland geez you have a long way to go for that those idiots seem to think they have a bottomless pit full of money... On the other hand they shouldn't even be considering spending that kind of money in these current economic times..The sad part is in the end the Taxpayer will end up footing the bill that has very limited benefit..But someone will no doubt be in someone's pocket another backroom deal.. So be prepared Mr/Mrs Taxpayer did deeper....

Yea, lets spend more money on sports fields. And get rid of the music and arts programs. Thats real smart thinking. Let me think, when was the last time you heard or saw a write up in the paper about youth in the arts or music programs being in trouble or on drugs? I think the answer to that would be, NEVER... Sports fields?, Music and Arts programs? I think I would prefer Music and Arts for my youth. Safer, Cleaner, Healthy, good responsible youth. Now thats the ticket

I think the money should be used to build an area for kids to do skateboarding and biking. They're all over the place looking for places to ride their bikes and boards and they are destroying areas due to that. Now they are using the new Triangle for that! Would be nice if they had somewhere to go where they won't be chased away and their parents would know where they are.

Money is already being spent yearly to use the field in Lower Macungie. I don't see a problem with improving the Legion field, but it doesn't need to be a "stadium". Scale down the current plans. And the neighbors complaining about parking...? This is not MLB we're talking about...good greif.

they need to spend the money on speed limit signs for north 5th street ,by the post office ppl obviously dont need how to drive on that street ,we have had our cars hit countless times by speeders ,also how about u fix the storm drains on this street.on any given time it rains heavily or just a little there is like a river running out in front of the post office.

Excuse me but I sincerely believe that chunk of change could be better used for IMPORTANT things that affect more students . The costs cited are just to start and build , how about upkeep , etc.?
There is more to life than sports and if ANY of you read the news you'll learn that the USA is falling behind of other countries because education is not a priority anymore .

believe all students deserve a field to call their own. Athletics keeps kids off the streets from 3 to 5PM witch just so happens to be the highest crime rate of the day. It teaches how to win and lose and keeps kids active and in better health. Sandra, I agree with you that the arts are just as important but do you really believe the students in the arts programs “never” do drugs or get in trouble? You never heard of a musician on drugs!? What about an artist who didn’t need therapy for something?

Hysteria over nothing. This is classic CEPTA driven by its leader O tto S lozer. If you want to watch the hysteria unfold go to the borough website and watch the second half - well after personal appeals end he explodes onto the screen - completly out of order in a tirade. the council president trys to stop him but he keeps going. even better, earlier in the meeting he tells council they are not treating him with respect.

keep is classy tax master.

If you all would like your neighboring towns to continue benefiting from venues such as sporting events? Then continue to blind eye the economic growth for Emmaus. Local fast food chains, gas stations and so on would benefit from bringing outsiders IN Field. This field is more likely to benefit this town or any town.
I would recommend ignoring those red signs! We all have an opinion but do not jump on the Ban Wagon! The benefit of such a project will ensure continued growth for the entire community. I think that 7-11 (Seven Eleven), Turkey Hill, MCDonalds and Wendy's Should jump on promoting and funding this project through donations, as they are likely to benefit from this Home field advantage. Get your community involved! Opposing every beneficial Idea only shows no effort to grow as a community.

I can see you and Jeremy spent alot of time on the field instead of the classroom learning how to spell!!! Yet another example of WHY the money should not be wasted!!! LMAO!!

Most of you aren't even from Emmaus. My daughter cheers for the Youth League in Emmaus, and as a person who lives in Emmaus and has gone to the meetings this stadium means building over the youth footballs fields, tearing down 2 pavilions and taking out a lot of land from somewhere where we like to call "Community Park". Community Park, not Emmaus High School Baseball field. There are tons of kids who use this park and elderly during the spring, summer and fall months. To tear everything down for a couple months a year is absolutely ridiculous. This is "our" park not the High Schools!!

kathy you better get a clue first. all you people who signed that petition were mislead. there r things in there that r lies. also who ever said they are taking down pavilions. all this hype because 2 people mr and mrs donches have no life. going door to door and to business's pressuring people into signing the petition. before anyone makes a comment go to a borough meeting and listen!!!!!!

Maybe if people would take off their blinders, turn up their hearing aids, sit down and listen they would see the big picture. Improving this field NOW is an investment in the future. Just think, little Mikie who is playing t-ball now, could have a child whos college is paid for because he started 'Youth" sports. Lets do this for the kids

As a Emmaus resident and Emmaus graduate what this article fails to mention is that parking at is a one big issue. If the statium is built the there is nowhere for the Emmaus youth football program to go to. They will have to look for a new place to practice and play there games. There are very few options for them to go to. The high school kids do deserve to play baseball in Emmaus just not at the park.

There's only so much that tax dollars can do. How do you prioritize where the money is spent? Now is not the time for spending that on a new field. Its a huge shit snadwich and we all have to take a bite.
