C'mon, Mr. Donches. Let's fess up to your bottom line. You're not some senior citizen scraping to get by. Taxes take a big toll when you own those rental property. There was never any big "stadium" plan. That was a trumped up pr ruse from Otto Slozer and Donches and the other "crew" members. They planned to refurbish the dugouts, plant grass, and do a few other field improvements. Tell the truth. You don't care about the traffic or the kids or the cost. You are determined to turn what was once a very supportive community into a laughingstock. That was no park. What kind of park can't you take your dogs to walk or run? There's something increasingly creepy about this group.
$750,000.00 just to refurbish the dugouts, plant grass and do a few other field improvements. I'll make sure to not reccommend you to do any planning and construction for any project the borough has. Take an actual look at the proposed Stadium plan, you'll see it is a lot, lot more than you say it is.
I think your right as far as not allowing dogs to be walked there, as long as they are leashed and the owners take responsibility for clean up. Come to a borough meeting and let them know you want to be able to walk your pet in the Borough Parks, nothing creepy about it.

If my child were a star "JOCK", I'd charge the school to have him play!
Pay to Play, WELL pay him to play.
Besides, doesn't the STAFF MEMBER collecting ticket money get paid?
I don't know. I take it that you work the ticket booth, do you get payed to collect the ticket monies when you work the ticket booth, and how much?
This seems like the perfect community service work that a student can perform to help out the school district and their sports teams.

<quoted text> This is all funded from the same pockets - tax dollars. I think it's a great idea to solve a need and save money. I'm sure they will work with Emmaus and let people use the field during the non-baseball season. This is something Emmaus should be proud of. The school that carries your name wants to have their home field in your town. It seems like a easy call to be done.
First off it is not a need. The school district pays nothing to have the Hornets base ball team play, as they have for the last 9 years, at the Lower Macungie fields on Church Lane. It is already PIAA compliant and will cost the EPAD taxpayer nothing.
I have suggested putting in a grass infield, which is all that is necessary, to have the team play at our Community Park. That is an easy call. Why spend any more than is necessary. The rest of the work should be done as normal maintenance, which has not been done for the last ~40 years. The Leagues that use the dugouts should be willing to do this sort of normal maintenance. Why do they always expect the Government should do the maintenance for their special interest that uses the facility. Remember the base ball teams are the only ones that actually use the dugouts, take some responsibility.

I find it interesting that the vast majority of the other comments that are posted never use their real name. Is that because most of them are from out of Emmaus and are people that play on an adult base ball league that would be using this Stadium if it would be built?
I have nothing to hide. Do you?

John:
Yippie. You have 1100 people who signed a paper and only maybe 10 came out to your rally. You are a joke. Take a closer look at this and you will see no one really cares except for you and your buddy Otto. As long as you and Otto are on the same team you are going no where. Everyone in Emmaus and the ESPD already knows everything they need to about Otto. Hope you guys sue once this goes through to waste some more of our money.

Have a great day.

Make sure you bring some tofu for Lynn.

I heard they are going to reroute I-78 through Emmaus so you could bring in people to the field.

Im already so mad that they are going to fix my street. Its just not fair. I like the potholes.

you are part of the problem .... I bet you are the one who demands the school provide daycare for your kids ... at the same time the school is typing letters addressed to you saying your kids are to fat....you are the problem,... encouraging the school to take over a public park so your fat kid can get a trophy for sitting on the $150,000 dollar dugout bench

How can you say that 1100+ signed a petition against this Stadium and in the next sentence "no body really cares" except for two people. As far as where it will go all I can say is we'll see eventually.
The only groups wasting taxpayer money right now are the Governing bodies, EPSD and the Emmaus council, or so called people in authority. Remember the Stadium is a want not a need, they, the Hornets ball team, play for free now. Why spend $750,000.00 for something that costs the taxpayer nothing? That doesnít make fiscal sense.
As mentioned before why donít you identify your self by your real name? I and Mr. Boenig are the only ones that donít hide our identity. Why do all the rest?

As I said before; the leagues can of their own free will put their money where their mouths are. Feel free to spend your money to buy some land, build a stadium and maintain your own investment. Youíll recoup all your investment in no time with all the tournament play you can solicit with the advertising you pay for to attract adult league play. Donít always come running for taxpayer monies, a lot of people, not connected with sports interests, donít want to contribute any more. Accept that fact.

john. you are funny and a liar. you know the project does not cost 750,000. its been printed in the paper and talked about that the borough is not getting that money. it has also been stated at the meetings i have watched that the project is being downsized and will not exceed 400,000 in tax dollars.

john. how come you change your position so many times? first you were ok with the amount and then when otto (daddy) corrected you you were against the amount. cant you think on your own? i thought you were for bringing the high school team back to emmaus but now you are against it too? otto tell you to change that position?

so glad the council is as open as they are with their meeting by posting them online. my family loves watching you. its really funny. tell craig i said hi.

Well if you really check the revised cost estimate is $450,000.00. We were told from the Council that if one of the three legs of the so called stool went away(Growing Greener Funds) this whole thing would fail. How come theyíre talking about scaling it back?
Youíre missing the point of the need vs. want, as I said the EPSD plays for free now and the taxpayer canít beat that price. They have played like this in their present location, which is within the EPSD area, for the last 9yrs.. They can play there for a lot longer.
Iíll tell you what, since you want me to take a stand on this issue I will. I am no longer for any sort of compromise. The elimination of other youth organizations from the same field is unacceptable behavior for our Council to have. Their job is to make sure that all youths are equally taken care of. When you specifically prohibit use by all other youths and their organizations it is just wrong, PERIOD. The EPSD has an ideal situation now and there is no need for any taxpayer money to be spent on this Stadium project.
As I said before; the leagues can of their own free will put their money where their mouths are. Feel free to spend your money to buy some land, build a stadium and maintain your own investment. And use your real name.
