Yeah the kids today are lame and feel like they need to be a bad a** to prove something. Plus teachers lost their ability to discipline kids properly now that everyone is law suite happy. We brought this on ourselves.

thank god he didnt hurt anyone with the gun, this could of been really ugly, and it is time that the people who make the laws in this state require gun owners to have trigger locks for guns kept where people have access to them. this guy could of easily became angry and slid that bullet into that gun and killed that girl. i am all for gun ownership, i have owned guns as long as i can remember, but i was also taught at that young age that the only time you point a gun at someone is if you intend on killing that person, we were taught that guns never came into the home loaded, and as soon as they were in storage, they had trigger or breech locks on them. the lehigh county building i believe gives them away free, and even if you had to buy one they are relatively inexpensive. it just makes sense, and i am sure that someone will come on here and say that i am being rediculous, but i feel that this is a simple way to protect innocent people.

I wonder why Emmaus High School parents and teachers had to read about this incident in the newspaper! Why doesn't the administration give us proper notice immediately so that rumors could be squashed? My son said kids were "talking about a girl being kidnapped from school with a gun to her head"! Misinformation is more damaging than factual information. We need to know about the problems, no matter how severe.

The article says, "a man", how old was this guy? Apparently he wasn't a 17 year old kid like the girl.

"Ethan M. Laubach, 19, of 178 Greenleaf St. was charged with carrying a gun without a license, having a gun on school property, terroristic threats and simple assault."

Second paragraph of the article. Apparently you didn't get that far.

written by Puddles "Plus teachers lost their ability to discipline kids properly now that everyone is law suite happy. We brought this on ourselves."

Why must teachers always be mentioned? Teachers were never in charge of how to properly discipline children. That is and always has been the job of the parents.

As a neighbor, im glad to see this person has been arrested. This person with his brother has broken into 2 cars in the neighborhood, which were parked OFF STREET. Police did nothing.
Parents kicked the kids out, they stay at grandparents house and cause havoc around here. The parents have never had control over their kids.
They have slept in a car in the grandparents driveway, police did nothing about that either. Drugs were done in broad daylight, their trash thrown out on the back alley.
Neighbors around here are disgusted, with the lack of police presence.
This kid is trouble, with a capital T

"ppl"? When did the utility company get involved???

BTW, that was sarcasm. What is with teenagers today? None of them can write a complete, coherent sentence without using "text-speak". I can't stand it. I was on my nephew's MySpace last night, and I literally got a headache trying to decipher that crap.

Do kids write papers like that in school? I pity the teachers.
