Are you scared? Scare tactics are lame. Emmaus is a great place to live. Money magazine ranks the town in the top 10 places to live in the US. Macungie is also a nice little town. Even Allentown isn't the Allentown you think it is. There are great places to live in the city like much of the south side, the east side and the west end. 90% of the crime in Allentown happens in a relatively small portion of the city. From the river west to 12th street between Sumner Ave and MLK. Outside of that area is relatively quiet. Even then, most violent crime in the city is drug related. If you're not dealing or buying you're relatively safe even downtown.

You're right. That was 2007 through 2009 and it was top 100.

In fact, in 2007 Emmaus was named best place to live in the entire state of Pennsylvania.

It didn't suddenly get bad. What? A bank robbery? Even Mayberry had a bank robbery.

Wow!! Reading all these comments from individuals who do not reside in Macungie yet feel they know EXACTLY what is going on about our community reminds us of all the uninformed citizens who attended last night's Macungie council meeting who wasted over an hour of valuable time spewing their hatred against the police department who protects our community on a daily basis! It's not only sad, but hilarious to sit back and observe! It is AMAZING to attend those meetings and view the lack of intelligence and critical thinking required to make informed decisions such as who to VOTE for....no wonder the exisiting mayor is Rickie Hoffman! The intelligent thinkers stayed home....bet that won't happen again next election....especially when word spreads that low income housing is being planned by some local real estate business and it's legal representation!

You are so CORRECT!!!! Aborting one's right to vote then realizing just WHAT got voted in is entirely TOO LATE to then complain about the outcome!! 400 or so votes is definitely NOT a people's mandate!!! Just look at the damage done to our borough by not being responsible citizens...a few minutes to cast a vote vs. MONTHS/YEARS/AND TAXPAYER DOLLARS WASTED ON LEGAL FEES due to this man!!! The hatred he and his few followers continue to spew over this borough, at meetings and towards our police force is disgusting!! The reality is...our police chief and dept. ALL FAVOR regionalization!!(as was discussed at the meeting) We are amazed at this group's inability to understand the situation and facts concerning regionalization, crime and safety in this small borough! It is grossly unacceptable and difficult to observe by those of us who educate ourselves regarding the issues. They need to spend more time and effort doing that instead of their vindictive, uneducated RANTING!!! Unfortunately in this country it seems the only ones who have time on their hands to wreak havoc are these narrowminded, hatred-spewing individuals backed by those with special interests in real estate and their legal supporters!
