Delete ALL your cookies, this sometimes helps if you don't want to do a system restore. (A system restore will take your computer back to it's original state before your last update without deleting files but a FACTORY RESTORE/RESET starts you back from the beginning like you just bought the computer, erasing EVERYTHING, files, photos, etc.)

Who are you to judge me? I'm being serious. I'm not into PORN what so ever! It's the sickest thing on the net in my opinion! I have a 5 year old child that uses my computer for heavens sakes!!! I went to e-bay first, looking for things for hubbys Harley, then, I went to dell looking for a laptop. I noticed my computer kinda froze then things began popping up everywhere. It was saying something about scanning my computer for virus and my computer was infected, it was horrible! Everything I tried to access, it kept popping up a windows security warning and wouldn't let me. So after diligentally hitting the restore button, over and over, it finally let me restore it to a earlier time.

Thank you for your help. I had to click on the no in order to get it off my computer....oh my! My poor eyes got some icky viewing for a min! It was like someone was typing in addresses in my web browser and redirected me in another tab to porn and viagra! Oh man! I'm just glad my child wasn't sitting in here with me when this happened.....why people want to put virus's out there to destroy someone elses things is beyond me. Luckily, I don't put things on my computer like credit card numbers and personal info. I did that one a long time ago, and got hacked. I learned the hard way 600.00 later!! So no more of that for me!! Have a good one and thanks again!

Next time your comp freezes .. press Ctrl .. Alt .. and delete button all three at the same time , that will bring up windows task manager , click on the Applications tab at top of windows task manager box ,Under Task .. click on the Running programs and end task , this will close out the web search you are on or the programs that may be freezing your comp. A box will come up just click do not send .

I recommend downloading Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (free version) and running a full system scan. Something may be left over and that should take care of it.

Go and download Avast Antivirus and install it and run it.

If that does not remove the infection, then you have but one recourse and that is to reinstall your software from scratch, you know, run the restoration disk which will delete everything and restore the default software.

Of course that means you will loose your files, unless you manage to back them up on a CD.

The previous suggestion to delete your cookies is the first step. And so, if that does not work then you will need to download Avast or restore you hard drive from scratch.

Do not believe those sites and pop up windows that tell you that a virus was detected on your PC and so tells you to do a scan, that is bogus and so a gimmick. Those sites should be sued. If you have a virus Avast will let you know. And Avast is updated daily every time you go online.

Another place that a bad file can be stored isn in your IE Content folder which you can not access unless you click it on from your Find Files or Folders application in your Start menu in your Desktop tool bar. If you go straight to the folder and click it on, it looks empty, so use the Find application and click it on there.

The next time you get pop-ups that ask you to run virus scans, DONT CLICK ON THEM ANYWHERE. Hit the CTRL, ALT, DELETE. That will bring up the task manager. Then close out the pop-ups that way. What kind of virus program do you have on the computer? Answer me that one then I will help you futher.

If you have any futher problems I could fix the computer for you. I do charge a small fee though. It depends on how bad the computer is. If its not to serious then I will only charge about $25.00. I will try to clean out any virus's that you have, install antispyware, programs. A cleaner tool that cleans out all of the history, cookies, also if you have deleted any programs there might still be some trace left in the registry, that program fixes registry errors also. Then I will install a virus program.(Not avast or AVG) The virus program will either have a 6-month trial or 1 month trial. It will be the same program though.

Thanks.
