That is definitely Lisa at age 14. She looked older than she was. I lived just 5 minutes' walk from her house and played there a few times as a child (I met her because my friend Diane lived in Lisa's house before her.) I also knew her as an acquaintence again during my early teen years.
The last time I saw Lisa, my friend Anne and I were walking down her street (more of a main road on our side of town) and she walked with us for a time, smoking her cigarettes. She was only 13 years old at the time, but in retrospect I can see she was headed for trouble. That day, she said she was headed to the north side of town to "get high" with a guy that I just recall her identifying as an adult (she told us his age, which I no longer specifically recall, but I do remember that I was concerned because he was NOT a teen like us.) She struck me then as a troubled teen. It was in her dress, makeup, and poor decision making.
I don't recall any media coverage about her being missing at age 14. Like you, I believe there's a major story there and Lisa deserves for it to be told. She was a CHILD. She deserved to be protected and to me, that means a parent most definitely should have reported her missing and/or as a runaway in real time, not 3 or 4 years later.
I have a VERY vague memory of her telling me she had a brother and something about her family dynamics that disturbed me. I was only 11 or 12 years old at that time (she was a few years younger) and cannot recall what that was? I THINK I remember what it was, but because I cannot be certain, I will not share it. I also think there might have been a stepdad in the picture, but again, vague recall there.
I CAN say that even when we played together at a young age (I watched Heidi with her in her basement), Lisa struck me as a lonely, withdrawn child. Those memories haunt me now that she is missing.
As for the guy whom she left town with and who returned without her later, it is my understanding that he was a known drug dealer and that he was "cleared" before he died. His identity has never been revealed to my knowledge. I'm concerned, given his drug activity, that she her fate was related to that.:( Her mother, btw, lived in a nearby town (near Elyria) in recent years.
Dear Lord, please let Lisa be found.

its sad to say its another child that will never be found

I can't make the same guess you've made because I think LMS is alive. I believe it's entirely possible she could be discovered one day, just as Jaycee Dugard was discovered all these years later.I know it's been many years, but maybe there is something more that has never been discovered?I wish I could find a group of people who HAD physically looked for LMS, or a family member who could give more facts on this case.It seems that no matter how many years go by without resolution, family members who sincerely loved or searched for her should be willing to give more info that could possibly help find her.
Maybe the details of her disappearance were orchestrated so nobody would ever discover her identity one day? Perhaps the only way someone could find out is if she told them?
Hypothetically, a 15 year old girl could not run away and change her name or even know HOW to alter her identity unless she had the help of someone who knew the particulars of how to do that, right?
Like someone in law enforcement maybe?
What happened to Lisa Marie Sexton?

shes dead i feel sorry for her family but i dont think the police had anything to do with it and shes dead

Helena, I like you and Thar, still believe (or at least want to believe) that Lisa is still alive somewhere. I'm not sure why "no name" believes so strongly that she isn't,short of the fact that it has been so many years since her disappearance but I do believe their is still a chance. No matter how slim it may be, just as Jaycee was. Anything is possible.. Lisa, if you are still out there, their are people out there that still love you, miss you and still care....

I may well have been the North side guy she was going to go get "high" with, I don't know. I don't remember getting high with her. We may have drank a few brews...anyway...
Lisa was a free spirit, and one of the most fun people it has ever been my pleasure to know. Ever.
She was beautiful and tall and she told my group she was 17. I was 21 at the time and I swear before God and my children I had no idea she was only 14. She told me she was 17 and would be 18 on May 10th of the coming year
As some one said in a previous post she looked older and she was mature and a STUNNINGLY beautiful redhead. Stunning.
I was in love with her then, and I think I still am 30 years later.
She was a great conversationalist, intelligent, eloquent, into the Rolling Stones and, as I said, I was in love with her.
We went to a YES concert at the Richfield Coliseum together once and had a great time. I quite enjoyed the looks we drew from the guys who were there stag.:-)
The spring she disappeared, April, she came to my house for a visit and asked me if I could give her a ride to "study" with a friend of hers, a female named Zer-.
As we were driving south from my house she started applying perfume and make up. For a study date with a girlfriend? What's wrong with this picture?
I dropped her off on the corner of Sixth and Middle near the High School. Something wasn't right so I went down to Eighth, north on East and back up Sixth. There on the corner I saw her kissing a long haired rather heavy set guy, older than me, in a black leather "biker" jacket.
I never saw her again.
The following winter I received a telephone call at my mothers house, out of the blue, from her.
She was crying.
I asked her what was wrong and she told me I didn't want to know and to not worry about it. She said she wanted to come home. I asked her where she was at and she told me Texas.
I told her I'd come and get her, that I could be there in a week.(This was a long time ago, I still remember it clearly)
She told me not to bother and that she'd be back in Elyria within a month, could she stay with me at my Mom's house because she didn't have any place else to stay?
I told her yeah and she should call me when she was leaving Texas so I could get things set up with my Mom before she got there.
She never showed and I never heard from her again.
I do remember...getting a call from a woman who said she was an operator about 5 or 6 weeks later asking if we knew any one in Omble/Umble (?) Texas who'd have placed a call to our number on such and such a date. The call she asked about was the approx. date Lisa called my mother's house. Said the call was placed with a stolen credit card if I remember correctly.
I do remember stupidly denying that i knew who made the call.
I miss you Lisa and I hope that somewhere you're safe and warm and dry.

TCM- Thank you for remembering the Lisa that I did. Yes she may have have lied about her age and hung around with some of the wrong people but she was just a you said, A stunning beauty and had a great personality !!! She was so much fun to be around too. I'm not saying she was perfect but who of us in our teens were??? I'm so sorry for the love you lost and I'm sorry that she never made it back home, I know your heart must be as heavy as mine. Happy Easter Lisa, wherever you are !!!

TCM, thanks for your post. I sat up a little straighter in my chair when I began to read your post because it made me wonder if you had ever spoken to investigators about your obvious care and concern for your friend and had given them the same info you gave here.

It must have been difficult if a year went by before you heard from her, because if you loved her, she was probably on your mind a lot, especially seeing her with another person and how that probably made you feel. That must have been tough.
It's equally hard to read that she called you, crying, said she wanted to come home, telling you that you wouldn't want to know what was going on, and she felt she would be back in the town within a month, but if she made it back to Elyria, nobody knows.
I find it very interesting that she asked to stay at YOUR mother's home in Elyria because she had no place else to go. If she was calling her mother, caring enough to let her know where she was, why would she NOT want to go to her own mother's home? Do you have any ideas about why she didn't feel she could go home? Did she ever tell you anything about her family or life at home?
Have you ever spoken to her mother or any family member about her?
Do you remember how or when you heard that she had been reported missing from Elyria? Do you also remember it being 4 years later, as some have described?
If so, did you wonder if she made it back to Elyria, just like it seemed she was planning to do when she spoke to you, but maybe you didn't know about it? Or (if there was a news story 4 years later) and you heard that her mother hadn't seen her since she was 14, what were your thoughts on her mother waiting so long to report her missing?
I,along with others, have many questions, but I appreciate your previous response and maybe your memories will reveal something, anything, that will help us make sense of this story. Thanks again.

Were you a friend of Lisa Marie Sexton? If she's dead, can you tell us what happened to her and where she can be located?
#31 Apr 5, 2010
Do you recall the rest of the first name of Lisa's friend, Zer-?
Last name? Anything you remember about friend's name? It is very important.
#32 Apr 5, 2010
no im not a friend its just what i think and im oftin right sorry if u r a friend of hers but thats just one of thos sad stories that wont have a happy ending
#33 Apr 5, 2010
Ok I see.You were just giving your opinion about how you feel she is dead. You may absolutely be correct, but it just sounds odd to say that somebody is dead if you don't know.
No, I'm not a friend, but I do care about the missing. I am just seeking more info to help me determine a few things I'm curious about.
I see where you are coming from to think that someone must be dead after being gone for so long, but there have been many wonderful reunions made recently between families and their children who disappeared under mysterious circumstances years before being located. This is why I have hope and honestly don't see how anyone can ASSUME someone is dead if there is no body, no evidence of death. I'm glad law enforcement doesn't write off children missing over a certain period of time as dead, erase their names from records, etc. and consider them gone.
If you have children or love anyone in your life, could you imagine them disappearing and then after a few days, you just go on back to work, buy a new outfit and go on with your life, assuming they must be dead because you don't know where they are? If you love someone and they disappear, you NEVER stop looking for them and you NEVER believe they are dead if there is no proof. You search every face, every car window for the face of your loved one.
I understand why you are guessing she's dead, but please understand that when a person is missing, most people don't really want to GUESS about the most negative outcome unless there is some evidence that points to it.
Are you aware that it's been alleged that she disappeared as a 14 year old child, but wasn't officially reported missing until approx. 4 years later? Have you read this? Did you read that allegeldy her mother said Lisa Marie Sexton continued to call her for those several years, so if she was the one making those calls, the cause of her disappearance wasn't DEATH, but something else. It's also alleged she made a phone call (to someone other than her mother) a year later, crying, saying she wanted to come home. Did you read that?
I feel those bits of information, if true, tend to point more toward a person who is most likely still alive somewhere. None of that points to her being dead because dead people don't make phone calls.

You may, if you want, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any further questions.
I would be more comfortable answering some of your questions outside of a public forum.
I am more than willing to do anything I can to help find my friend Lisa. Anything.
Please e-mail me any questions and I'd like to pick your brain to see what you believed happened.
I look forward to hearing from you.
#35 Apr 6, 2010
BTW I do not mean to imply that I may have some juicy tidbit of info that would help in anyway, I don't believe I do.
Still anything I can do, let me know.
Being the father of four and three daughters.....it's a terrifying prospect to think that one of them could just fall off the face of the earth the way Lisa seems to have done.
#36 Apr 6, 2010
Thanks for showing you care and for being willing to talk about this case.
Do you, or anyone else reading here, recall if LMS had a friend named Terri or Marie? maybe somebody she hung around with or hung out at their house?
#37 Apr 6, 2010
I never spoke with any one in authority or an investigator. I moved to New Jersey in 1986.
She was on my mind costantly, I was thrilled to hear from her and when a couple of months went by....heartbroken.
I feel in my heart she never made it back. If she had, she would have contacted me.
Our last phone conversation might be paraphrased better as "Lisa you know I love you, come home, and if you don't have anywhere to stay you can stay with me at my mom's" It was a long time ago. I got the feeling she just didn't want to go to her mom's. I have no idea why.
I always got the impression there was some type of wierd family dynamic going on but I never pressed her for an explanation and she never came out and told me anything.
I never spoke with her mother ever, nor did I ever meet her family. I was only at her home twice and there was no one else at home.
I remember taking her some sherbet when she had her tonsils removed and was pretty sore. I remember they had a big stuffed Owl in their family room. It had a name that I do not recall now.
I found out she'd gone missing when I recieved a telephone call from one of my brothers who'd seen a television show that she was featured on. Until then....I had no idea she was even gone.
I was very disturbed by the news because from then until now I have always and will always wonder if there was something more I could have done.
I have no idea why she didn't want me to go to "Texas" (I'm aware that all the sightings said she Florida but I distinctly remember her telling me Texas, she may have been being untruthful but....) to get her. I should have insisted.
I should have.
I wouldn't dare to speculate on why her mother took so long to report that she had gone missing.
Perhaps with enough phone contact she thought she was alright? I dunno. I know from my own children that the whole mother/daughter thing can get kind of too strange for a male to understand.
I've often wondered why no run-a-way report though...
I do recall the friends name but would not want to reveal that on this thread. I don't believe she had anythin to do with the last time I saw Lisa really. She used it as a ruse in my opinion.
Lisa was like a pretty butterfly that chose to perch on your shoulder for a while. She always gave me the impression that if pressed too hard about a number of different thngs she'd just fly off and perch herself on some one else's shoulder.
I always wanted her to stick around as long as possible so I never really pressed her for answers about much. She wasn't the type you were going to hold on to unless she wanted to be held.
This whole thing has gotten me rather sad.
I believe I'll have myself a Bourbon.
#38 Apr 6, 2010
I don't know what to say. Honestly. I just don't know what to say. I'm sorry for opening up a hole in your heart, sad that you are sad. It's clear that you cared, but absolutely amazing that nobody has ever contacted you about that last time you saw her, but after those alleged 4 years went by, it would be hard to track down those with whom she was seen with on the exact day she disappeared, but your info is mind boggling and appears to be important, yet it was never obtained to help find this beautiful young lady! Truly another injustice done to her, so say the least.
Thanking you really doesn't do much for the pain and concern that you obviously seem to feel for her, so I'll just say another prayer for LMS and for you, as well. Easy on the bourbon.
#39 Apr 6, 2010
I've said a few times in my posts that LMS's mother allegedly waited 4 yrs to report her missing but it was said here by someone else that she waited until 1984, and LMS disappeared in 1981, so it was actually not 4 yrs, but alleged to have been more like 2 or 3 yrs.
Still, there is no explanation for not knowing where your 14, 15, 16 year old is each night you go to bed.
I still want to know how LMS's disappearance was handled with her school.
1. It's extremely important to find out if someone officially withdrew her, or if the school just recorded so many absences that they finally contacted her mother, or whomever her legal guardian was.
2. If the school contacted Lisa's parent/guardian, what did they tell the school about WHY SHE NEVER CAME BACK?
3. If the parent or guardian made up a lie about where she was, why? If they told the school she was missing, what did the school do?
4. If Lisa's friends were wondering why she wasn't in her desk day after day, did they call her house? What were they told?
5. Did they go by and ask Lisa's mom if she was home?
These questions are standing out to me very boldly tonight. I know I've asked them before, but they continue to disturb me, as if I feel prodded by an unknown force to keep asking.

LOL @//Easy on the Bourbon//
For me one is almost always enough and two always is....
They're very good questions Helena.
I wish you the best of luck in your quest for answers.
