The LDNews Editorial "Gas Needs No Help" about the Marcellus Shale operations was dead on!

Here is an issue that we, as a people, need to show where we stand. For those of you who need more information about this topic, there was an excellent documentary created called "GasLand," which is about the Marcellus Shale and more specifically the process of fracking which threatens our environment and the drinking water of Pennsylvanians. Here is a link to a preview of the documentary, which gives you a taste:

I thank the LDNews for bringing this topic to their editorial column. Can you please cover this more so that other citizens of this commonwealth can begin to understand the danger that exists?

Additionally, I read both candidate Folmer and Litz's election pieces in the paper this morning. They both claim to be concerned about the Marcellus Shale project, but I wonder if any of you out there has proof of where both candidates really stand on this issue? Please don't just throw political diatribe my way on this issue. Provide facts and possibly links that all of us can use to make informed decisions for ourselves. Thank you!

Ms. Litz should be careful of what she wishes for. Any votes she gets will be attributed to registered Democrats voting the party line. If those Democrats ignored their party affiliation and voted for the candidate based on an assessment of intellect, experience, and merit then she would get NO votes. She's as dumb as a door nail and does not merit Lebanon County's confidence to serve as our Senator.

You should not insult the door nail like that!

Is she "dumb as a door nail" because you disagree with her or because you have actually engaged her in conversation and discovered that to be true?

I can't say that I know her, which is why I am trying to research her more, but comments such as both of yours (without any facts to back them up) do nothing but fuel the angry fires of extremist groups.

Do either of you know where either of these candidates (or any other candidates...Toomey, Sestak, Corbett, and Onorato) stand on the Marcellus Shale issues?

Litz has zero chance of beating Folmer, and that's a good thing. Mike's a good guy and has plenty of ideas, but you can't beat the Dumbocrats all alone. Just like we need a Republican majority in the US Congress, we need one in the PA legislature as well. Eight years of Ed Spendell and his sleazy party are quite enough and it's time for change...for the better. Ditto Obummer and his pathetic crew of Reid, Pelosi, Bwaney Fwank, Barbara Boxer, Maxine Waters...the list of schmucks goes on and on.

I still can't past the 2008 clipping and pasting of
Jo Litz and Hilary Clinton
pictures into montages for post cards and signs...
... in her (Litz's) effort to sidle up to Hillary
for her failed 2008 presidential campaign.

Ugh.

No, she comes by her stupidity honestly...

So Moronbius, you think Folmer is an intellectual? He sure had a glittering resume prior to his election to the Senate, and he's really made an impact in Harrisburg, hasn't he?

This woulda been a good year for someone to step forward and save us from Litz vs. Folmer (like maybe Bob Hoffman?) Oh well, four more years of mediocrity or worse for Lebanon County in the Senate. Ugh.

Are these two rocket scientists going to have a debate before the election?

If so, I'd like to schedule it on my calendar so I can bring my kid along and show him what NOT to be when he grows up.

Actually, Folmer had more credentials in his little finger than Brightbill had in his whole body.

And you actually want to draw comparisons between Folmer and Ditz?

Gimme a break...

Good ideas don't necessarily translate into action. I think for the most part all Americans have some good ideas; some just are incapable of accomplishing them.

Also, I love how you so stupidly believe that a Republican majority in the US Congress will change anything. Were you seriously born yesterday? It doesn't matter which of the two parties is in control of Congress, neither one does what is optimal.

Furthermore, you must think you are so clever with your cute little nicknames; how old are you, five? The reason this country has so many problems is because idiots such as yourself think that a certain party in power will make everything better. Well, you know what, when the Republicans were still in control back in 2005, things weren't any better or worse than they are overall today.

Lastly, I love how your cute little list of nicknames includes no Republicans. I'm glad to see that such an educated citizen such as yourself can be impartial and see how pathetic both sides are. Oh wait, you can't. Litz isn't a winner, but certainly neither is Folmer. Nevertheless, personally, I think both candidates represent the 48th district quite well; it's a district of undereducated, ignorant people.

which is the lesser of the two evils, Folmer or Litz?
well I went to Folmer for help with an issue and later returned to him and he was like, oh sorry I dropped the ball, and he still has not done anything to this day. He has excuse after excuse. So no thanks to either of them.

Actually, Folmer is light years ahead of Ditz in intellect and integrity. And he's done a decent job as State Senator, especially for his first term.

Contrast Folmer with Ditz; what has the liberal Damnocrat accomplished in all of her years as a commissioner?

Haha, when I first read this I actually thought you were serious. Then, after some reconsideration, I realized this had to be a joke unless you were a complete and total idiot. You are joking, right? A decent job as State Senator, really? It seems like the only real thing this man has accomplished is using his own car and giving back his COLA payments. If that is the most any 48th District Senator has to offer, we should just leave the seat open, which would save this district quite a bit of money each year. These were the things highlighted in the flyer I got for Former in the mail. What struck me the most was that nothing policy related was on it. He calls for a constitutional convention, but that won't happen. He is clever, though, in the sense that he only does stuff that makes him look good. Citizen Mike does know how to look good and get reelected. Unfortunate, though, because it would be nice if someone actually fought for us in Harrisburg.

However, don't misinterpret what I'm saying. Litz isn't worth anything either. We in the 48th District will come out losers on election day no matter which of these two buffoons wins.

Also, I'm glad to see that you too, Morbius, are coming up and using the adorable little nicknames. It is great to know that there is more than one immature, uneducated person in this town on this site. Quite frankly, I'm surprised you can even read. How about instead of bashing any candidate with stupid nicknames, you actually take a moment and look up what each candidate actually stands for. That way, we can actually have some informed voters in this district. Okay? Bye.

Litz is a ditz and so are you! Na-na-na-na-na-na!!!
I love how people get so defensive on these blogs... if ya'll get this upset and start calling people names, then don't read it!

Now for my two-sense... I am a registered Independent, and I think Folmer has done a fine job representing the 48th district. I feel strongly about cutting taxes and eliminating wasteful spending, two things that Folmer really stands for and is trying to accomplish. I don't think one term is enough time for a any person to attack and fix all of the problems that our state faces. I certainly would feel more comfortable being represented by him than Jo Ellen Litz.

I find it ironic that the "immature uneducated voter" is calling out others.

And anyone who supports either idiot running for state senator in the 48th district shouldn't vote.
