First, let me start by saying RIP Jason. Although I don't know him personally, it is still a tragedy that he lost his life. Any life lost is still a loss, may not be a great loss to me or you, but it is a great loss to those that loved him.
Secondly, I am an avid driver on the Southern State Parkway. I see countless wreckless bike riders fly past me and all the other cars on the regular. I live off exit 16 and prior to, I used to live off exit 14. It is particularly disturbing to me because these bike riders have no regard for other drivers on the roadways. I hate to say this, but these bike riders they have a need for speed, hence the fact that they are even bike owners to begin with. They are adrenaline junkies and know the dangers of riding prior to purchasing their bikes. My thing is this, if you want to speed, fine! I am all for speeding, as long as you do it in a cautious manner and the other cars on the roadway don't seem threatened. But if you want to speed, by all means, be my guest. Just don't be anywhere near me while I'm trying to switch lanes, because if we do, and it's the matter of me getting slammed into by another car or hitting you, chances are I'M GOING TO PICK HITTING YOU. Why? Simply because if the lane was clear in the first place for me to switch lanes, that's why I switched lanes. That means the bike rider wasn't there to begin with. If you try to pull a fast one while I'm trying to get in my lane, and a car is already speeding up to take the spot in the lane I just came from, sorry bike rider, you're going down. I am not going to be run off the road and killed by you wreckless, adrenaline junkies!! You chose to ride, you pay with your life. These bike riders swear cars are going to move for them. If you fly up on me, I may just be a jerk and slam on my brakes. Don't try to intimidate drivers by speeding up on them. You may meet your match! Riders beware...... there are car drivers out there that don't care if you're on 2 wheels. If you got the heart, take your chances.
Til then, hope you all stay away from me while I'm driving because I'll be damned if I get into a wrap up on the Southern State for one of you guys.
You play, you pay.
