It seems like this case is going to be open and shut. That tells you employee was at top of chain since her name wasn't released nor was she arrested.

I remember the report in the newspaper but never saw a follow up. Who knows the full facts? Maybe there was insufficient evidence to prosecute.
Innocent until PROVEN guilty.

I mistakenly thought the post was in reference to a newspaper article during the D.A.s election. My mistake.
Today's town Talk alleges that there's an investigation of embezzlement over a 24 year period.
WOW!
Somebody wasn't doing their homework.
Anybody got details?
If convicted, I wonder if the employee will be given probation and 20 years to make restitution?

She's William Earl sister, they won't pursue any charges against her. She was able to resign and get her full retirement!

Nope. Tis true. I heard about it last night around the same time Phyllis was here commenting. The news must have broke around the same time.

We all know what will happen next. Everyone will vote the current Attorney General Buddy Caldwell back in office, this whole thing will go away. No jail time or restitution. Just swept under rug. Good Ole Boy Politics. Terrell acting all surprised at how much money was unaccounted for he know before he was sworn in what is was looking like. His little under handed money scams will catch up with him also!

That doesn't make sense. Terrell is the one who had all his departments audited. The offenses occurred under Wagner and Downs. Terrell announced the outcome and called in the State Police. He's the one giving the press releases. I've no doubt he'll recuse the D.A.s office from prosecution, as well he should.
I'll wait and see what goes public and await an outcome.

I think we need body cameras on all Government employees, to protect their side of the story.. Wink wink.

I'm becoming concerned that there's no information coming out regarding this case. The auditors identified the crime and possible suspect. The State Police had only to confirm those findings. I'm concerned that activities are going on behind the curtains of justice to protect the suspect.
Question: "Is you is or is you ain't gonna be arrested".
I'm tired of reading about embezzlers who blatantly steal and get suspended sentences. If nobody goes to jail, how do we prevent future occurrences? Already happens with drug and burglary perpetrators.

He already knew about the missing money in the budget. Yes it occurred under Downs and Wagner. Sir I'm a DA employee. Terrell knew what he was getting into wasn't a Surprise like he's making it seem. He's trying to cover up his on criminal activities.

Do you really think Sheriff Hilton sister will go to jail. She was about to resign and get full retirement after she was
Caught with money, guns, jewelry. Yeah right! Instead she allowed to save face. Where the minority workers were fired when Terrell took over.

No they are hoping everyone will forget about it! Margaret Hilton Beard should be arrested along with Joy Creed and Robbie Arnold, Jam Downs, Brian Mosley! But I'm sure they will just pay the money back. End of the story! Good Ole Boy Politics!

Sure been quiet lately. Any news on the investigation? I heard the amount she stole was high six figures. Wonder where the money went?
