Is H1N1 In ellsinore school

I heard that a few kids were out of Ellsinore School last week for the swine flu.. One mother has confimed her son tested positve for A flu, his sample wasn't sent off for futher treatment only still 97 % of the flu tested has been H1N1 SWINE FLU of 2009.

I wonder if they contacted the school and KFVS 12?

All states surronding Missouri execpt Iowa is has widspread H1N1 Swine Flu.

It is in Carter County, and I don't think this mother was fibbing about her child.

I talked to the nurse from the health center at the festival in Van Buren yesterday and she told me a 18 year old from Grandin tested positive for it, but that she didn't think he was in school anymore. I will be calling again tomorrow for sure!

i believe, no i pray, the school would let parents know if any student has it! I think it has to be reported as well, anyone that is diagnosed with it cuz the government is tracking it.

How will you know if your child has H1N1.. My 7 year old daughter has been running a fever of 100-102.9 for two days. Throat looks fine, coughing a lot, and has been tossing his cookies off and on for the past day. I am afread of taking her into the doctor , if she doesn't have it, I don't want her to get it. Shouldn't she be running a hirer fever. She has a cousin who tested pos for flu, we haven't been around him, but we have his mother. Help please

look online for signs and symptoms of it. On CNN their guy had it and said he had a 102 temp and couldnt get up cause he would get really light headed. Coughing bad too. Anderson cooper is still coughing from it and thought he was gonna cough up a lung. they say though, doors cant really treat it. Its like reg flu, you just treat otc and the body works its own self well. The doc on CNN said he just took fever reliever, and hes a doc.

I think you need to take your child to the doctor. I have heard that the fever has not been that high..

i called the carter county health dept to get the h1n1 shot.now get this i fall into a high risk group,have a carter county address and she told me to call reynolds county.i did and she told me to call carter county.i have a list from my dr all my medical things wrong but am getting the runaway in getting the shot.carter county said i fit the list of people to get it but sends me a country away.and they send me back

I recently read an article about it, that said H1N1 is more likely to cause vomiting/diarheaa than the regular flu. If his chest becomes congested I would definitely contact the doctor. Sooner rather than later.

My daughter, who is a teacher in Oklahoma, went to her physician last week with flu symptoms. Tests were done, and it was determined she did have the flu. When she asked her physician if it could be H1N1, she was told there was no definitive test for H1N1. My daughter was prescribed antibiotics and told to return to the doctor if she didn't feel better within three days.

I suggest anyone who is experiencing "flu" symptoms, consult a medical professional--a physician. Don't try self medication.

CCHC doesn't have anything but the nasal mist...which if your in a high risk group you cannot take. They are making a list for the high risk people to call when they receive the vaccine. I'm betting she suggested calling other clinics to see if they have/had the vaccine for you so you wouldn't have to wait. Take the regular flu vaccine in the interim until the h1n1 gets here.

Unless the docotor your daughter saw was sure she had a bacterial infection, he/she should not have prescribed an antibiotic. Antibiotics treat bacterial infections, not viral infections. This is the reason our bodies do not fight off infections very well these days...doctors have been over prescribing antibiotics for years and years...if you are taking antibiotics all the time...when you don't have a bacterial infection, when you do get one (a bacterial infection), the antibiotics don't work as well (or at all). Also, bacteria become immune to some antibiotics because they are "used to them". Furthermore, when it comes to viruses, if you never give your body time to fight off (build up natural antibodies) viruses...your immune system is weakened and eventually loses its ability to do so.

So...yes, if you are experiencing severe flu-like symptoms...by all means see a doctor...but don't let them give you some antibiotic for a virus...just to make you feel better that you are taking some sort of medicine...insist that they treat this flu virus just like any other flu virus for the past 50 years...plenty of fluids, bed rest, etc...and i do think there are some anti-VIRAL medicines out now...not very familiar with them though. Probably something I need to research.
