What is this about dogs being confined in a concrete building without proper ventilation, and other, for five days, and then euthanized. Animal lovers and activists are appalled at this horrible treatment of precious, loving dogs, and want these dogs taken out immediately. These dogs deserve a change at having a safe and loving home. How can these dogs get a chance, at even a breath of fresh air, being confined to an isolated concrete building. This is animal cruelty, and with the extreme temperature that is occurring, an oven in itself. "God have mercy on the dogs, and correct the level of stupidity and ignorance, and such disregard that those in charge have for a precious, loving, helpless, voiceless animal such as a dog. Amen!"
We demand that the City of Ellisville take better care of their animals, and that such evilness does not occur to other animals.
What are you going to do? You can't sit by and do nothing. You can't allow these animals to be treated with such inhumane disregard. God will hold each of us accountable for the animals He has placed in our care. You think He won't. You think that God over looks such behavior. NOT. And neither do animal lovers and activists across the US. We demand that you act humanely, and treat these animals with more respect.
This letter will be sent to everyone I can get in touch with.
Sincerely,
Trecia Watson

great PR for Ellisville not to mention the state. I wonder how the mayor feels about people across the country knowing how backward this is ? Sounds like someone need to seriously do a story on this ,anyone know someone at the local new station or newspaper?

These people responsible for this atrocious cruelty and torture of animals in Ellisville Ms should be prosecuted for there actions in torture and cruelty towards animals.
I am english i live in Canada and i have made sure the word has spread over the pond of what is happening here to peoples lost pets and other dogs that are supposed to be in a "shelter" but find themselves in a hopeless place with no fresh air, no kindness and no way out.
THE WORLD IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THIS SITUATION IN YOUR TOWN...
DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS NOW BECAUSE WE ARE WATCHING AND EXPECTING YOU TO DO THE RIGHT THING!

I am sickend and very angry after learning about the pit bull container in Ellisville. I live in Tennessee and, to be honest, I know of at least one similar thing that took place here (it was shut down) and have no doubt that there are more. The south has a deeply disturbing reputation regarding the treatment of animals.
I just wanted to chime in and say that through the internet (God bless it) we are able to see what's going on. I don't think it will be open for business for long - the world won't stand for it!
Mississippi, you are one of my favorite states!! Please, please do something about this!!!
Thank you for providing this outlet to post.

This story has gone viral. We in the UK are horrified at the inhumane, barbaric treatment of dogs in Ellisville MS. We have spread this story via Facebook/Twitter and have written to Mayor Waldrup. This hellhole must be closed down immediately. Your politicians and authorities need to get off their backsides and work to solve the problem of strays and abandoned animals humanely. This is 2013 after all. I'm so sick of the way some people treat animals, as though they were trash. This hasn't done Ellisville any favours. Who will want to visit there? This is what we've been sharing.

I have lived in Ellisville most of my life. I know the building in question. I always thought it was a storage building for the college. I am an animal lover and I have never been so disgusted in this city. I don't know if any of you know or not but the building has since been torn down. Here is a local rescue group who is trying to buy land and build a proper facility in Ellisville. The city will not help with funds. The group is depending on help from the public. How hard do you think it would be to set up a way to donate for this cause? It would be fantastic if we could raise enough money for this facility. This city needs it so very bad. He name of the groul is Southern Cross Animal Rescue. Jere is a link to their fb page https://m.facebook.com/SouthernCrossAnimalRes...
I am not affiliated with this group in any way. I do however fully support them and would love to contribute and get the animals of ellisville the help they need.

Thank you so much.

Thanks to Trina for letting us know about this thread. I'm a member of Southern Cross Animal Rescue and we are trying to find a location for our facility in/near Ellisville. Sadly, the treatment of the dogs in Ellisville is not unusual here in the deep south. And is hardly the worst facility. However, we can do better, and there's no excuse for not doing so. We are hopeful we will be able to help, and appreciate any support in doing so. Our facebook page (Trina posted the link) has our paypal set up, an amazon wish list, and we would love to hear from you. Thank you for caring so much about animals, every time someone speaks out it makes it a little less acceptable to treat animals the way they are often treated here. Thank you again.
