Narrows bridge plan brings joy, worry

The state has reserved $20 million of federal stimulus money to build a new bridge over the New River in Narrows.

If Narrows are gonna complain perhaps the plan should be scraped and the new bridge be built on 114 over the new river in Fairlawn. that bridge has needed replaced for 8 years and has more traffic than the one in narrows. We would gladly take it without griping...!!!

Well fred if it helps,I think you should get the new bridge,let Narrows complain about that..

What i can't understand is what business are they talking about losing exactly? The town of narrows has NO businesses to begin with. Anna's and Foodtime? Well woooppeee.

i guess it is easy to say woopppee if you aren't the owners of those buisnesses. How would you like it if there were a roadblock put up where people couldnt get to your buisness?

or you live on 460 side of bridge and your house catches fire with your family in it and the fire department has to go all the way to glen lyn or pearisburg and back up just to get to your house????
