I have read some of your post and frankly am sick of them. It is apparent that you have lived here (Reynolds County) for over 20 years. You seem to make sure that you post that every few posts. However, this does not make you a life time member of Reynolds County.(? as I do not know your exact age) I for one am not a fan of "deer doggin'" but never would consider MURDERING a dog based on it's training. I believe that you stated that you have dog(s) also. Does your dog never chase anything? I have a wonderful dog that chases all sorts of animals (i.e. skunks, cats, rabbits etc). Anyway, my point is that you are continuely speaking negative of the people of this county. I am greatly confused. If you so dislike the people and/or actions of the people of this county why are you still here? Does someone have you strapped to your computer with a gun to your head commanding that you post these topix that not only show your blatten dislike for others or are you just this STUPID?(Ok had a little rant.) I for one HAVE lived in this county my entire life (except for college, yea people from Reynolds County do that too) and although I may not agree with the actions of others I will never tell an elder to end what he has done his whole life to feed his family. Running a deer is not any different than a coon or rabbit as a matter of fact if you think about it that should not be allowed as these animals are smaller than most of the dogs used to hunt them. That doesn't seem fair to them. Poor little guys. "If" there ever happens to be a dog wonder on your property please God help it!!!!! I'm sure this is not a planned action on the side of the dog or hunter. THEY CAN'T HELP WHERE THE ANIMAL THEY ARE CHASING RUNS!!!!!!! And if you do MURDER the dog that steps paws on your land then God help you. I pray now that you are never in need of a meal and the only option that you have to feed your family is an out of season animal.(I'll send you some pepper to season your dog!!!!)
Both sides lose haha

Haha both sides of this arguement are fucking stupid. First off i know people who run dogs and spot light on there own land some on public. I don't ever hear about poaching on private land to much. It is wrong to poach but its what ev do what you gotta do I'll be fine either way i can always manage to go out and find a deer. Second of all you can't say that poachers are heartless and don't even give them a chance. If you are a regular deer hunter and say poachers "don't give deer a chance" you are just as guilty because last time I checked being decked out in camo, scent spray, calls, and guns wasn't really "fair". Not saying poaching is right but make a better argument you hipocritical pricks. If you wanna give deer a chance run out in the woods bare naked and try to run it down because that would be fair. Now that i've got the point out that either side has a argument can everyone just stop. This argument won't ever have a victor.

I am sorry but how do you think they used to get their deer in the old days?? They used dogs!!! There are only Certain people that run dogs on others property! I myself think that if the dogs run on someone else's property just let them go until they get on the property that you are allowed to run on! I think that all of you HATERS out there are just pissed off because you can't go out and have some fun! What is wrong with hearing a good race every once in a while!! I am sure that if the "Hounds" where running a deer on your property that you would not shoot it!!! Ya right you would probably be the first ones to shoot it and then complain about it!!! Really get a life I bet you can't count on both hands the amount of times that you have killed a deer run by dogs!!! I bet you ate real good too!!

Ok get real people. First off if you think dog running is fun go and do it just don't disturb people. But just because it's a tradition isn't a very good excuse because it's not the old days where you used to have to run dogs for deer. The reason they had to use dogs back then was because there was such a lack of deer because everyone had killed so many that they almost went extinct. Also don't say its because you have to feed you're family because lets get real gas is like 3.50 a gallon and i know you're not taking your prius in the deer woods. Also dogs aren't cheap, dog food for a hound isn't cheap, and guns and ammo are deffinatly not cheap. But if you just like running dogs go ahead im all for it just don't come up with louzy excuses because in reality you do it to fuel your social life and show off which is fine with me everyone needs something to do. and to "lol" from O'Fallon nice trolling lol

This comment is to A DOG RUNNER. First of all you are completely wrong the old time hunters did NOT use dogs. They actually went into the woods ahead of deer season and found tracks and deer sign to figure out where to hunt. in the old days dogs were used only for squirrel and coon hunting and they actually went into the woods unlike you butt heads that sit your fat asses in your trucks. That is NOT hunting. Running deer with dogs is not fair to the deer or the real hunters that do things the right way. Shooting a deer being run by a dog is just a lazy opportunistic and shameful way to kill a deer not to mention being illegal. I believe any real deer hunter that sees a dog running a deer should kill the dog and leave the deer for a respectable hunter

i hafta agree, it is hard to find a place to hunt around here without the dogs ruining your hunt. i like to bow hunt, but kinda hard to when a deer runs past you going mach ten with dogs behind it. they need to get out and enjoy the the outdoors rather than sit in their truck. not to mention the way they take care of the dogs.
What, are you bow hunting during rifle season? Not that its illegal but with all the extra time you get for bow hunting I would think you would be able to hunt when no dogs are being ran (like not during rifle season) besides bow hunting is about the cruelest way to take a deer, you might as well beat it with a baseball bat it would probably suffer less before it dies.

really? They run dogs all during bow season to. Just during rifle season, now thats funny stuff ! As far as hunting with a bow, it takes a real hunter to take your game that way. It is about getting up close and gettimg that perfect shot.
