"I think it's important that we know who's using these vehicles ... who's paying for the fuel," said Mayor Matt Streeter, who called for the discussion at the council meeting.

Get rid of the Old post Office lease we don't need! do not buy the fire house land for $1.8 million dollars! sue for the $595,000 dollars for the use less land that was brought for the fire house! build the new fire house, were the old fire house is located! stop wasting our money! for Gods sake, use a little common sense!

Why worry about what other towns are doing? Do what is best for the town. Putting more cops on foot to save idle time? Thats a great idea. Maybe they can run to their calls and the same idiots who set them up for failure could complain about their response time. Why is it always the police departments problem? News flash; the police need cars!

Hey Tim!! Keep it up! The JI advt. and Channel 3 spot gave you a lot of exposure. You should run for Town Council. There are a lot of us out here who believe in the Shepard platform.

Go for it!!

This is not Tim and I and not interested in running for a position on TC or any position! But I will organized many people to put a end to our Town Charter and their Dictatorship form of Government! It is quite simple our Citizens should have a say with Referendums after all its their Town to! I could not believe on this Monday meeting that the TC started on the Town fuel cost on how to save Money and what people would thing about cars being used and what for! they should have started on what they are doing to this Town? they got Elected on a O% tax increase last year! they are the problem! all this new business in Town and we get a 5.9% Tax increase! I don't think so! our Town is a mess all this traffic and other things we have to put up with that we should not have to pay that Tax increase do we!

Matt Galligan says that a switch to on site lunches for public works workers has saved the town in fuel costs. I guess this explains why the other day I saw 4 public works employees trying to eat their lunch on the side of the road in the rain. As I passed by them, the weather switched from a drizzle to a downpour. They had to run to their trucks with their rain soaked lunches. Shame on you Matt Galligan for forcing our public works employees to eat by the side of the road in a downpour. I cant believe that you admit to trying to save the town money by saving a couple of gallons of fuel, while we pay $11,000 per month for a post office that we have no plans to use, or spend $1.8 million on a piece of property for a firehouse that we cant use because of a weed. Maybe you should eat your lunch on the side of the road in the rain instead of at The Mill on the River. Our public works employees deserve better. Shame on you.

Our TC wanted to start some where to save our Town money with every penny with looking at fuel costs? My Question is? why each member just look in the mirror? the TC waste full spending of Tax payers money, and remind you with out any referendums! this is very scary on what damage they can do to our Town!

Don't worry they are getting $12 million dollars from the State for our Town Education! which the Town TC and Town manager did not tell us about or add that in to our over budget $93 million dollars? what a great year of spending our TC will have when they come back in Sept.! it will be Christmas year in South Windsor for our TC and especially our Town manager!

The $12.8M the town will recieve this year for education cost sharing grant is clear for all to see in the town budget documents. Perhaps you should consider learning to read. The scholl administrations hedges the price of diesel which provides some protection to the price volatility.

Where can I read about the elementary facilities referendum. Dozens of citizens worked on the project and we are waiting two years now? Why hasn't the BOE given this to TC for referendum vote? Are they abandoning the elementary schools? What's the update Citizen?
