We really like Charlies. It was kind of loud in there last time. Don't know if they have fixed that problem or not

Not bad if you can ignore Collette, wife of Charlie. She's the worst thing about Charlie's. She will be Charlie's downfall.

We had an excellent dinner last night. The staff was friendly, helpful and the food was delicious. I had the eggplant parmesean and my husband had the strip steak. I love the bread! It was hot and fresh and delicious with butter! Loved our sweet waitress too. We're never had a bad meal there.

We ate there tonight, food was great & service was excellent!! Our waitress's name was Kristi I think, she was a little pette girl w/ glasses, we wanted to complement about how wonderful she was, but who I guess was the manager was talking to another couple, & I couldn't get her attention so I told the hostess!! We really enjoyed ourselves!! Our bill was only $31, so I think that is very affordable for great food & excellent service!!

Charlies has the best Filet Mignon Steak around. Charlies wife, I guess her name is Collette from an above post, is too critical of the waitresses in public view. Her complaints should not be heard by the dinner guests trying to enjoy a night out.

Maybe I should try it again because the time we ate there the food wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't very good either. And have to agree the lady manager is rude she makes you feel like she is doing you a favor to let you eat there.

Quit trashing the local businesses. Obviously you haven't eaten there since Christmas. Collette was totally trashed in the last Charlie's thread and obviously she must have read the comments because she has TOTALLY changed. I know, because after eating there for at least five years, she now smiles and is friendly.

I agree with Diner that she shouldn't criticize the help where customers can hear, but the reason the service is so excellent at Charlie's is because Collette stays on top of everything and expects her employees to do a top notch job. Something that most employers don't bother with. If you are trained to be a waitress at charlie's you will be able to wait tables anywhere. I like to equate training by collette like training by IBM. She takes young people that have never waited tables before and puts them through weeks of training and working behind the scenes and then I'm told you have to work the lunch shift for months before you are ever allowed to work the dinner shift.

So, yes, Collette is tough, but she runs a first rate, top class operation in this little burg.

They have been in business for about 15 years and she has been there the whole time.

Ate there last Saturday, for the first time. Food was good, place was very noisy because of poor acoustics. Sounds like you're in a tin can. When speaking to our waitress, Collette interrupted our "ordering" and chewed on the waitress for not cleaning another table. She can be tough, but she does not need to be a jerk. Collette showed no respect for the waitress or us.

That's not cool. As a customer, I would have been uncomfortable for both the waitress, and myself.

Exactly. I felt very uncomfortable and sad for the server. That is known as "management by intimidation". Was told there is a big turnover there. Those actions explain why.

Collate has not changed, she's still the rude hateful person she's always been. My family won't eat there because of her ant also the food is average at best not bad just not good enough to go back.

Why do you transplants you have infested our community try to ruin the local businesses?

By your own admission, you've been there ONE time.

Yet you libel a local family-owned business that has waiting lines to get seated.

The majority of their servers have been with them for years, yet you maliciously publish untrue statements about what you "were told".

Collette practices "Management through Excellence": Do it RIGHT. This is why the service is invariably excellent.

Why do you people have to poison the communities in which you've chosen to live?

I agree Reality, Collette runs a tight ship and always has and she does an excellent job. They were open in Blue Ridge for several years before moving to Ellijay, and there was always a line to get in on Friday and Sat. I have ate their 100-150 times over the years and have never experienced Collette being anything but professional.
