Ellijay Animal Hospital is very good. Frankly all of the local vets are exceptional for both small and larger animals.

Our family just loves everyone on staff there. We had a tragedy in our family about three years ago when someone poisoned one of our dogs with antifreeze. It was awful. There was nothing they could do to help her. The Dr. was so kind and sympathetic. He let me make the decision as to what we wanted to do. I didn't want her to suffer as she was so we opted to put her to sleep. I got to talk to her the entire time and reasured her that she was so loved. One of the assistants was crying with me. When it was over they ask me if I wanted to take her home, or if I wanted to leave her with them. I told the Dr. that I wanted to take her home so we could bury her. The assistant told me to step out and and they would get her ready. It was so thoughtful the way that they handled things. The assistant even carried her to the car for me. He asked me where I wanted to put her in the car. I told him the front seat. He nodded his head in sadness and said, "yes ma am". He obviously understood my need to carry her home with dignity. It was so sweet because, about two weeks later we received a card of sympathy in the mail. They hadn't forgotten us, or the loss of a member of our family. If you want truly caring individuals to take care of your pet, this is the place to go. They will never know how they touched our hearts with their actions that day. We still take our animals to them. With the way they treat the animals it is obvious that they love what they do for them. They are not all about financial gain. THEY REALLY LOVE THEIR PATIENTS! And you will love them if you choose to take your animals there.:}

We moved both of our dogs to Ellijay Animal Hospital three years ago. Nothing wrong with the care at Appalachian, they just never did know who we were when we came in and that was 2 to 3 times every month mostly for boarding. They just never did act like they were glad we were spending money at their place.

Been to both Vets with my 4 dogs and would say that Appalachian is better and a better value. Ellijay likes to pad their bills a bit.

Great people and very professional. All of the doctors and staff are top notch...much better than Appalachian.

When we had to have our yellow lab put to sleep due to Kidney Failure...Appalachain was just as respectful to us and our pet, as The Ellis Family sates above Ellijay Animal Hospital was to them.

I currently use Ellijay Animal Hospital...

Both are very good vets...Appalachian seems to be a little cheaper, but Ellijay seems to be friendlier. Its really just a personal preference.

Took my animals to Appalachian yesterday for their annual shots and all. Been going there for years. They have always been friendly. Tried Ellijay once and was shocked by the bills. Appalachian saved us a lot of money and the staff there was great.

We are lucky to have two very competent Vet hospitals in this town. Say what you will, but I have used both ( and will continue to do so) and I have nothing but great things to say about them. They can be expensive, but we sign on for that when we take a pet into our homes.

Appalachian is wonderful. Varied doctors with alot of experience even with exotics. They have better hours and really seem to care. They have also helped me to save money thru the doctors advice and specials.

I think EAH has a problem with cleanliness. We took our Schnauzer puppy in there for a check up. We, at the time, didn't know the rule about not letting a puppy walk on the floor in a vets office. He became VERY sick a day or so after that visit. We know it was parvo, but they denied it. Our precious little Schnauzer died a horrible death, because of unclean, un-sanitized facility. I would NOT suggest you, or anyone take their pets there.

Been taking our dogs there for over 4 years and could not ask for better or more understanding staff.
Recently had to put down our 14 year old English Bulldog and the care and understanding that the staff showed told us we are at the right place. We do not go here once in a while. We are boarding on average twice a month. They are good folks.

It's a great place. Only place in town I'd even consider taking my pets. I tried the others; but I'm staying with Ellijay Animal Hospital.

Absolutely love Ellijay Animal Hospital ... I lost my best friend last July - the compassion and the way they treated me and my darling dog was remarkable. I too received a card signed by each member of the saff. I was never pressured to put my dog to sleep - I had to make the decision myself - but after it was done, the Dr. assured me I had done the right thing. It gave me such comfort to know that.
