Leftwing radical and terrorist as keynote speaker at Teacher's Convention

"Left-wing ’60s radical and onetime domestic terrorist Bill Ayers will be a keynote speaker at the Association of Teacher Educators annual conference in Atlanta next month.
Ayers gained notoriety alongside his wife Bernardine Dohrn as a member of the Weather Underground during the Vietnam War. He was involved in Chicago’s “Days of Rage” riot in 1969 and went underground as a fugitive from justice after an accidental Greenwich Village townhouse explosion in 1970 killed three Weather Underground members who were preparing a bomb that prematurely detonated."
Is there not SOME point at which parents say "Enough!"?

In the first place, God made idiots.
That was for practice.
Then he made school boards.

Any teacher or administrator that goes to this conference should be fired! They should have the good sense and decency to contact John Barge and the promoters of this conference and demand that this terrorist not be allowed to speak at anything to do with teachers and children. We are spending a forture arming our schools and here they are going to let someone speak to them that has bombed the pentagon and set off numerous other bombs??? Surely no one will go. But where is the outrage?

And, if Ayers speaking at the Atlanta conference for teachers isn't enough, you might want to read this article: http://www.wnd.com/2013/01/muslim-brotherhood...
Here is a summary:
A Muslim Brotherhood-linked organization has partnered with the U.S. Department of Education and the State Department to facilitate an online program aiming to connect all U.S. schools with classrooms abroad by 2016.
Vartan Gregorian, a board member of the organization, the Qatar Foundation International, was appointed in 2009 to President Obama’s White House Fellowships Commission.
WND previously exposed that Gregorian served as a point man in granting $49.2 million in startup capital to an education-reform project founded by former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers and chaired by Obama.
Documentation shows Gregorian was central in Ayers’ recruitment of Obama to serve as the first chairman of the project, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge – a job in which Obama worked closely on a regular basis with Ayers.
DOES THIS NOT CONCERN ANYONE???? This is happening right under our noses.

Doesn't the fact that our "Prez" kept such wonderful friends around him during his formative years....Read up on some of his other "buddies" up in Chicago too.Scum bags all!

Most of us have known about the prez's associations even before he was elected the first time. However, who he knows, what he believes and what he is going to continue trying to shove down our throats rests squarely on the shoulders of the people that were too lazy or to caught up in the government support to realize or care what was happening to our country.
And there is little we can do about that now other than try and do some damage control. But what is happening to our students in the government education system is something we can do something about. The government does not have the right to control the education of our children, the state and local governments do. We gave and are continuing to give over control to the federal government, but we can stop that, and we could start by standing up to the promoters of the teacher conference in Atlanta next month. Demand that Ayers not be allowed to speak. It wouldn't be the first time a keynote speaker was changed because of controversy and uproar.

The problem is not Ayers.
He's been a known Marxist and domestic terrorist since the 60s.
The problem is that our Public Educators would invite, and pay for, such a man to be their keynote speaker at their conference on education.
Let him speak.
It's far better to reveal the rot, rather than hide it.
If the government educators were doing to the kids' bodies,
what they're doing to their minds,
they'd all be in prison.
And the keys thrown away.
One wonders what sort of monsters would methodically destroy the minds of the nation's children like this.
The younger educators have the same gelatinous mush for a mind, as what they're creating in the kids, since they TOO are victims of having a public education. They don't see the evil.
The older educators know what's wrong, but they're gritting their teeth counting off the minutes, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year, until their juicy pensions kick in.
The rest are in no man's land, hiding in a State of Self-Delusion.
If you care about your children, get them out.

Optimist/Reality Now/Reality or whatever other psuedoname you may chose to go by, for the 100th time if you think the education system is so bad do something and quit bi.... Run for school board, get a job at one ofn the schools, or open your own for that matter. Your negativity and spitefulness is not helping. Be productive become involved. Quit spewing hatred and ranting about something that you are not willing to have a personal stake in. You arent a parent, arent a teacher, and dont even have a child you personally are so called advocating for. Either put up or shut up as the old addage goes. As far as this guy Ayers to get back to the original topic, that is an absolute shame. I cant believe that a confessed terrorist is a key note speaker anywhere much less an education conference. After all of the recent school violence you would think that a person that resorted to violence to achieve his objectives would be the last person on earth they woyld want to be associated with.

You people have become so accustomed to bullying little kids, that you think you can force anyone into submission.
Do you see that all of your demands upon me have a common theme?
You want me to FIX public education.
I don't believe that it's fixable.
It's corrupt, wasteful, dysfunctional, immoral and actually destructive to the welfare of the students, the community and the country.
You know this as well as I do.
But educators want it FIXED, so that their cushy ride on the gravy train is not interrupted.
Your motivation that I FIX it, is pure selfish greed.
My motivation is doing what's right for the children, and collaterally for the country.
NONE of us have a future, if the kids have no future.
The kids in school today will be the doctors and engineers of tomorrow.
Forcing the Gilmer taxpayers to pay for teachers' medical insurance will be meaningless if there are no doctors or nurses to treat you.
I couldn't find anything positive about having Ayers at the conventions when I started this thread.
Maligning me, will not fix the state of education.
I'd rather you lash out at me, than some poor kid in a government mind experiment.
Ayers would only be a poor choice is they had the best interests of the students at heart.
If they were trying to use public education to destroy the kids minds, he's perfect.

There seems to be an ominous silence from the teachers, principals, admins, supers, on this topic.

Why would they object to hearing Mr. Ayers, the formerly Distinguished professor of Education...? The man is as radical as it gets. To bring attention to his causes, instead of posting on forums, writing letters, protesting, he bombed the UNITED STATES CAPITOL building, he BOMBED the Pentagon, he BOMBED the New York City police headquarters and because they didn't read him is miranda rights, HE WALKS AROUND FREE to be paid with OUR TAX DOLLARS to explain to our teachers how to teach SOCIAL JUSTICE which is just code for how to brain wash our children into believing everyone else's beliefs are superior to ours. Look at how he is promoted by the teacher's union.
William Ayers, formerly Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), founder of both the Small Schools Workshop and the Center for Youth and Society, has written extensively about social justice, democracy and education, the cultural contexts of schooling, and teaching as an essentially intellectual, ethical, and political enterprise.
His articles have appeared in numerous scholarly and popular journals, and his books include Teaching Toward Freedom; A Kind and Just Parent; Fugitive Days; On the Side of the Child; Teaching the Personal and the Political; (with Ryan Alexander-Tanner) To Teach: The Journey, in Comics; (with Kevin Kumashiro, Erica Meiners, Therese Quinn, and David Stovall) Teaching Toward Democracy; (with Bernardine Dohrn) Race Course. Edited books include (with Janet Miller) A Light in Dark Times: Maxine Greene and the Unfinished Conversation; (with Therese Quinn and Jean Ann Hunt) Teaching for Social Justice; and (with Therese Quinn and David Stovall) the Handbook of Social Justice in Education.
I can't wait to see who seeks reimbursement for attending this farce.
