The Republican Party, The Tea Party, and the Chamber of Commerce have all faied to host debates this election season. I just got a call from Fetchyournews and they will be hosting a DEBATE for the DA"S race, the Sheriff's race, Post 1 Commissioners and Tax Commissioners at the North Georgis Community Center ( across from post office) on July 21st! Time is'nt set yet but I will post it as sson as they tell me. Supposed to be a meet and greet and then debate after. I REALLY hope the community turns out for this!

Randy, you already have my vote. It's too bad you won't be debating JC. Even with all JC's rants about coming out to the Town Hall meetings, I am not interested in wasting my time to listen to all his stories and reasons why the BOC-C is so thin skinned and why he has refused to answer the Grand Jury's recommendations from Oct 2011.

I know you're serious about running for office. You've already run at least one time and you're at it again, so I know you're serious and I am thankful and believe you'll do what it takes to remove the curtain off the shenanigans that occur in our local government. My question is why are there so many people running now for elected office? And do the candidates as a whole really have a solid tenacious game plan to get the job done? I'd be interested in knowing what you think about this?

As the old saying goes, when one person challenges an incumbent, there is probably nothing wrong with the way it is. But when four candidates challenge an incumbent, you can rest assured that the office is not being run as it should be.

I do believe this is true!!!

I read the article in the times courier however since you have chosen to become an official polititician now, I do not feel comfortable that the entire story has been told. Funny how you did. It choose to disclose this prior to it being discovered, dang can we not just fond one honest person out there anymore!

I've never heard this saying, but sure sounds about right.

Randy, is that building going to be big enough, for the amount of people I believe are going to attend?

Anyway, this is great!

not so much. first hand experience is people's lives are being threatened. not everyone has the balls it takes to face that type of derangement in our communities.

It's official! The announcement is on fetchyournews.com under the Election 2012 tab. All the candidates are invited. I'm looking forward to it, and appreciate The North Georgia Medical Center and fetchyournews for stepping up and making this happen.

Charlie, I agree with your sentiment, the debate is a good idea and we should give thanks to FYN and NGMC for showing community leadership and their commitment to enhancing the democratic process.

On a more pressing matter, I was wondering...if I were to bring my mounted singing fish to the debate do you think you could you autograph it for me?

It's my understanding that the cookouts and socializing with the candidates and other members of the community will begin at 3pm in the parking lot area of the N. Ga medical center across from the main post office. The debates start at 5 pm inside where it is AIR-CONDITIONED.

This is our only opportunity in Gilmer County to ask questions of the candidates and to hear them all answer some of the same questions. It is easy to get up on stage and just say who you are and what you hope to accomplish. It is very difficult to actually explain how you intend to accomplish that. This is what we need to hear.

I think all of us want things to be better. I think most all of us think certain things should have already been done or should never have been done. It's a lot easier to talk about what you think should be done in general terms, but we need to be able to ask the candidates if you think things are being done incorrectly what would you do differently. This way as taxpayers we can decide if we like what they would change. Or maybe when they tell you what they think is messed up, you might decide you kind of like it that way ...

I hope the citizens of Gilmer County will come out today, even if it's just for some free food!
