I took my children to the city pool today and there were a group of kids there about the ages of 12 and 13. I know who these kids are and their parents. But what I saw was horrible. These kids were making out and feeling each other up, hands all over each other right in the fron of the bathroom area and then they would get in the pool and make out in the corners of the pool. I was appalled that these parents just let their children out unattended and not caring who their children are with or really what they are doing. The lifeguards just sat there never said a word to them. Finally I went over there and said for them to stop that and I would be calling the parents. There were younger kids at the pool watching these kids. What are we trying to do here in our town showing "soft porn" for enteratinment at the city pool. I hope and pray that these parents aren't raising their grandchildren in the next couple of years because of situations like this. I think it is wrong and I think that we as a nation as a CHRISTIAN nation start taking a stand for our children and what they do and don't do.

I agree. Poor kids, they have no raisin' as my mama used to say. Some of the parents and teachers even, aren't setting a good moral example. Sad!

You think that is bad, you should see what happens at the movie theater with kids about the same age. I have been there severl time and seen much more going on than that. Parents just drop their kids off and don't have a clue. My wife and I will never drop either of our kids off at the movies or pool.

And for everyone's clarification , the lifeguards are ther to guard against drownings and injuries. NOT to fix the bad parenting in today's society!!!!

I started reading this and and my thoughts went like this;
"Kids today have no respect for others...."

Then I realized, little hypocrite me, I did the same thing.
In public places like pools, zoos and parks, movie theaters and school parking lots. My generation smoked, kissed, drank, groped, smoked pot and cussed loudly in the company of families and the general public.

I cringe at my behavior NOW, don't get me wrong. But this is nothing new.
And it's not that old either. There was a time when kids showed respect in public, and I'm wondering when that was, cause it wasn't in my day.

It wasn't yesterday but it wasn't all that long ago either.(Not giving up my age here)

Not just today's, hence my post.
Parents, adults and society in general stopped setting good examples a long time ago.
But when, is what I'm asking.
When were we not afraid to tell other peoples kids that their behavior sucks?

Nothing wrong with anyone thinking they're not too good for $8 an hour.

I saw an article yesterday, where thousands filled out an application for a full time job with an attorney, for $10k a year.
They just want to work.

parents have used the city pool as a "dumping ground" to leave their children there all day for as long as the pool has been open.I don't know if the life guards should be expected to be our "sex policemen" too....

Are you sure they weren't boys and girls club kids? They do not seem to have much supervision.

Hey Gilmer, that's probably the last time you actually had a job! You probably been sucking off those that have a job since then. Continue to enjoy your Jerry Springer from your rented single wide! And no I don't work at the pool nor do I go.

Your first, and only, mistake was labeling our nation as Christian. Maybe Hypocritical Christian is more appropriate.

I'm sorry y'all had to experience that at the pool, though. I am tired of stupid parenting myself.

Did all this occur before or after the freezing rain?

This is so true, These parent just dont get the fact that nobody likes a misbehaved kid, They will turn them loose out in publc and when they act up most of these younger parents will act like they dont even belong to them.

It wasn't the boys and girls club children. It is dumping grounds for parents to drop their children. I have a 12 year old and I wouldn't leave him/her with a girlfriend or boyfriend without parental or adult supervision. Yes I may be old fashion but in todays society we can't do what our parents did years ago. There are some parents who think that it is cute that their children have boyfriends or girlfriends and are encouraging this kind of behavior. And we were at the pool during the "freezing rain". LOL It was coldddd..........

Why don't you define "younger parents"!

24 year old parents dropping off their 12 year old children at the pool. Its in the genes. Or maybe out of the jeans in this case.

24 years old with a 12 year old. Try a again buddy! Your best bet is to stop giving "younger" parents a bad name!
