April and Tony, I always enjoyed eating at your Diner and I enjoyed your company. Things happen for a reason in life, but something good always comes out of it. With your's and Tony's spirit, you will bounce back. So take care my friends, and God bless!!

I'm very, very sorry to hear this. I wish the best for the two of you and hope you fare well through this difficult time.
I loved Tonys Diner :,(

You two are the kind of people I would want as a neighbor; I was enchanted the first time I met each of you. Separate times, I ate there more than once.

April~ Ignore the one who would kick you while you're down. There is something very wrong with his mental state and if you read all the posts on this board every day, you would see what I mean.

You're a lovely woman and a great hostess. God Bless :(

Tony and I have NOT been able to keep a dry eye. We just don't feel like we are suppose to shut down. We want to ask the public for their opinion. What if we opened back up in a different LOCATION? Was the diner really a place you guys enjoyed going too? Where would you guys suggest reopening at? Looking for ALL comments good or bad please.

I thought your location, on the way in/out of CRR, was good.
You should have picked up the breakfast and coming-home-too-tired-to-cook traffic.

The food was good.

The building was a little shabby.

Your biggest problem is that people are getting too poor to eat out.

Also, whatever you do, don't open where the Red Clay, Louies, Ellijay Diner, and Southern Twist were located.

You make yourself so obvious..... You wouldn't happen to be another restaurant owner? Truth be known if you ever took the time to eat there you would know the food really was good and Tony& April really did care for their customers. Both would go out of their way to be sure you were happy.

I think that would be a much better location. I was always concerned your current location was not convenient to most of us. Other than people who live in Coosawatee or 382, most dont have an occassion to be in that area. I think you will have better chance of success in town. Ate there once...I really enjoyed it. However, the exterior appearance of the building may have kept some from venturing in.

That would be a great place, but the overhead would eat you alive. Unless you could get 6 months free rent to give you time to build up a clientele (which the landlord would be a fool not to grant) you wouldn't have a chance. But it is fully furnished down to the dishes which are still set up as place settings on the tablecloths. But the utilities etc. would also be outrageous. I don't think it would support a down home type restaurant with down home type prices. But it would make a great Italian rest. but you would need someone with money to be involved, at least IMHO.

Don't think so. I think ReMax has expanded into that space. They just haven't taken the sign down yet.

Hey Dark Male, when is your cheese & tea shop opening???

That location is another restaurant graveyard. How many have tried there before? Until the economy improves it is hard for a mom and pop place to make it. People have been brainwashed into only going to the franchises even though profits then head out of town. I do my best to support small business, but it is getting harder and harder. Maybe try to save up for a Chik-filet fee.

We really really want to go there ( the KFC ) our hearts dreams. We would to do the entire outside in shiny metal (chrome look) like the ole Time diners. Then I would LOVE to get the front end of a 57 Chevy and put it on the roof as our sign and put two lights in the Headlights to make it look like they work. Also in time I would LOVE to get a Chevy body ( shell) and put it on a poll on the 4 lane as a billboard sign. My pops did this with a VW in douglasville for his repair shop. 20+ years and it is still there on Bright Star rd.:). We have so many ideas. Even a malt shop with the diner but we put all $60,000.00 in the other building unfortunately I truly wish we had some guidance at that time. We were to excited about providing jobs and buying locally to help our community. This is the first time tony and I aren't able to do for others. It's killing us !!!!! We feel so HELPLESS , we are so worried about the families and children that we usually help for Christmas what are they going to do? This brings tears to our eyes. The closing of the diner has just crushed us we just chose a bad location. And it costed us big time and not just us but others too our employees don't have work our suppliers are short a client now. How are we going to help others when we can't even help ourselves ? Especially being disabled.
