Hello,

I am thinking about buying an RV lot in CRR. The realtor made it sound wonderful on the phone. She said you get a lot and that you can add a deck, cover for your trailer and even put up a small shed. Additionally, the amenities in the resort sound great for my small children.

I would like to hear from current RV lot owners about life in CRR - positive and negative.

Thanks!

Hi. I own a lot in the campground. Yes, you can build "roofovers", decks, sheds, etc. CRR is great and there is a pool minutes from any of the RV lots as well as the river and bridge to Fishtrap park. My only recomendation is to look where you buy. Some of the streets have older RVs that aren't visited often so they sometimes get mildewed and can suffer in appearance. All in all its a great place and makes for a reasonable getaway. Was just there a couple of weeks ago and saw several properties for sale that included the lot and existing RV. There were a couple of really nice places for sale at real reasonable prices. Right now you can buy a lot/RV combo cheaper than you can buy the two separately. Good luck!

Don't be fooled! The Campground is a dump! Drugs and rednecks who can't seem to understand that you don't drop your trash on the ground because you are too lazy to put it in a can.
We drive an extra mile out of our way to avoid going through the campground - it's that bad!

The campground is a wonderful and peaceful place (too bad can't say that about the blogs.........)
Just like anywhere you need to look at your surrounding and make a wise decision I did and don't regret it for a minute.

What's funny is I see trashy places all over the resort. Its not just the camper section. Just like any other community in coosawatter. You have nice places and you have the bad. Don't let negative people like this ass hole change your mind. This makes Me so sad to see people so rude and negative. And thinking your better than those people in the camper section? Just remember. Those people in the camper section( most of them are just vacation camp spots. They own another house on the bb bl em bf side as well and even one in Florida and Texas. I hate people Like you. Go wipe the shit off your forehead from where your heads been so fat up your ass.

I actually know someone who works in dispatch for the county. And there are more drug problems on the em bb bl bf side than in the camper section. There is actually a drug dealer on the eagle mountain side that they are looking into. And there are more domestics on the em side rather than the emc side. It's not a bad place. There is law breaking everywhere you go. Even in this very nice community

Terri, it is not a terrible place, it is actually quite nice. The official website is www.coosawattee.net and they have restricted lots for sale.

We have had our lot for just over a year and a half and have never regretted buying it. We have made wonderful friends there.

There are some good buys right now. You also can check craigslist, I have seen listings there too.

The Coosawattee campgrounds has lots of problems like drugs and crime. Better check it out real good first. See the other Coosawattee topic and read some.

I've owned several years in the campground. A very nice get-a-way. Don't listen to the garbage you read on here. These sites are populated by the same group of angry people who hate everything and everybody. Good luck in your search.

I will not make a statement to the quality of the campgrounds. I have met some wonderful people there that take good care of their property. I would just like to mention that what you may be looking for in the campgrounds does not end there. It is part of the entire Coosawattee River Resort and all sections have their proplems.
My advice is to look at what may be happening to the ENTIRE community. There are many issues in debate at present that may or may not affect the annual fees/dues you may be required to pay later. Just be aware :)

I have lived here for more than 10 years. I was a cop prior to moving here. You will have crime and drugs anyplace you live unless you own you own island with armed guards all around it. I feel very safe here. I see little of the crimes mentioned. A couple drug idiots moved into the camp ground and got caught now everyone thinks it is a drug haven. If we abandoned every place that had an issue, where would we go. Bad guys are everywhere. I never lock my tools up. Many times I never lock my house. No problems. I could not say that when I lived in Florida. They would enter your garage with you home if you left the door open. I live in peace and quiet now. I enjoy the scenic views and amenities. All the bad mouths need to just shut up and move if they do not like it. Probably a bunch of old farts with nothing to do but complain like they probably did wherever they lived. Every city has them. I probably could be considered an old fart at my age also, but I sure am not going to bad mouth where I live like some of you jerks do. Sure some people do not take care of there homes, but they are few and far between. Slobs live everywhere and how rich or educated they are has no bearing on being a slob or a crook or a drug dealer. One of my friends in Florida was a drug dealer I found out when working with the task force on wire taps. He was no longer a friend and neither was the people he brought to the house prior.

The Gilmer Sheriff's department has made TWO major raids on the campgrounds in CRR busting meth labs. The last one was only a few months ago, and hit THREE campsites.

This is fact. Look it up.

IMO, this is the real reason why many campsite owners are abandoning campsites -- and letting ownership revert back to the CRRA. I used to exit through Odgen Drive -- not anymore...

P.S. I live in a house close to the campgrounds. I have had tools stolen from my property. I lock up everything valuable now.
