EXCERPT FROM ABOVE LINK:
On Oct. 5, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. issued a post-mortem on the failure of Appalachian Community Bank, which was reported on Atlanta Business Chronicle’s website.
The same day, the FDIC went to court to try to recover nearly a million dollars loaned out by Appalachian.
In complaints filed in U.S. District Court in Gainesville, the FDIC is seeking to recover $476,190 loaned to Maloan Investments LLC and Adam Teague of Ellijay, and $450,000 to MT Construction and Development LLC and David Teague, also of Ellijay.

COMMENTARY: It is a nice start - although it just sounds like a civil suit. My questions are:
Why are the FDIC & FBI not pressing criminal charges against anyone?
Why is Gilmer D.A. Joe Hendricks such a piss poor disgrace that he won't prosecute criminal charges filed in regards to Adam's partner in crime Rusty Beamon?
Why isn't the Times Courier reporting any of this?
You know what really puzzles me about all of this crap, is that most anyone dealing with this bunch of crooked snakes and was hurt by them and their illegal dealings know that this investigation should be a "very easy, slam dunk case" against this band of merry men! Something very, very off color is going on here with no criminal prosecutions under way! Hell, I ain't a prosecutor, yet I think I could do this job. At the very core of almost anything like this that has ever taken place, is the "root of all evil", MONEY!! And I submit to you that some has changed hands on this one with anyone charged with the prosecutory obligation to protect the common man against crooks like these! We'll see....

It's my understanding that when this is taken to trial that everything wrong that these guys did must be presented at that time, not piece meal one here one there, so after talking with the feds they are still finding more and more stuff(think they have 6 or 7 years) the wheels of justice turn slowly. I do recommend that if you have lost a house or property to gilmer county bank that you follow up on what happened to it after the bank got it back. Taxes records don't lie. If the bank sold it to one of the shell corporations then resold it, please let FBI know.

Well, today is your chance to vote for democrats since they have you convinced that the government exists to "protect the common man"...is that what schools are teaching? Very scary indeed.

Vote Democrat? What damn hole have you been living in? If you don't think that "our" government, has as one of its' sole purposes, that of "protecting us" is not alive and well in doing so each and everyday, then, well, I recommend you crawl back in your hole, cover yourself up and life a happy life! Do you not know that this adminstration wants us all to be totally dependent on them for everything? And yes, being basically union controlled, this is what our schools are teaching! Very scary indeed! I'd just like to see our justice system work like it was designed, that's all...

I guess sarcasm is over your head. I'll try to write short sentences and use no figures of speech next time. What I hear you saying is that you want the government to protect people from themselves. Borrowing money for business is risky. The government cannot keep people from making poor business decisions or losing collateral pledged on loans. Loan agreements are legal contracts and understanding the courses of action available to a lender is the responsibility of the borrower; that's bad for big egos but true. The government will, however, bring cases against banks, bankers and borrowers to make a showing of its power and authority. They have already states publicly that they intend to do so. Wouldn't it be funny if some of the borrowers who have given the banks such a hard time end up in trouble themselves? Some have undoubtedly pulled some shenanigans themselves.

If Bush was a republican then I'm Dan Quayle. Obama got elected because people thought the parties had flip flopped based on Bush's unbridled spending.

pint size, you should be able to talk to one of the fdic guys that are main office on industrial bld. and they can put you in touch with FBI agent and FDIC agent in charge of invesigation.
Vote Then, I have no trouble with sarcasm or assuming responsibility in my portion of loan deal but when the bank foreclose on property and then turns around and sells it to there shell company for a sum not available to others, then one week later make $60,000 selling it, I do have a problem with that.

AMEN to that! Big Oil wrecked our economy, not the banks. The banks were too highly leveraged and unsecured but they did not cause the collapse of our economy....they were the first victims. This isn't the first time that Big Oil has wrecked our economy either. Look back at 1974 and about 1979 and again in 1990. Why can't we voters recognize the problem here? Answer: too many single issue voters. "Churches" telling people how to vote. Too many people wasting their precious vote by voting for something that isn't. Both parties have been in power several times since Rowe vs Wade was passed (while a Republican president was in office) and NEITHER party has introduced a bill to change it....so why do we keep throwing our votes away by supporting a person or party that talks about doing something but never doing anything about it? Ditto for the gun control group. I heard a bunch of local people before the 2007 election saying Obama would take away our guns; has he? Even if he wanted to he couldn't because it takes 2/3 of the house and senate to change an amendment. In short, we are getting exactly what we are voting for.

. Why do so many people in Ellijay monitor topix posts in the Ellijay forum and embrace the nonfactual assertions? Roe v. Wade is a judicial question. You need a client that has subject matter that is ripe and has standing to confront. Also- please research beyond the 35 minutes a week you watch of Hannity or Beck. Have you not briefed Griswold v. Connecticut holding/ruling? Another correction is that Amendment remand requires 3/4 of the states. It is unfortunate that noone either cares about all of the mistruths on Ellijay topix or noone cares. Tragic and exactly how and why politicians prey on rural and urban areas. Country will be saved by suburbanites.
