Advocates rally after raid, arrests
The 6 a.m. call jolted Nicolas Ramos out of bed. His cousin Veronica Ramos was on the other end sobbing.

Her shirt says "Don't divide our families". How about "Don't be in the US Illegally"?

I am a legal citizen of America. We cannot continue to allow rampant illegal immigration.
It hurts my family - people think we are illegal. It hurts my wages - I can't compete with someone willing to live in a house with 15 others. They say "do not divide our families". It was their decision to break the laws and bring their families into this. They took the chance. They divided their families. They say "painting houses is not a crime". Yes, that is correct. They are not being arrested for painting houses. They are being arrested for violating US Federal Law. I left Guatamala because laws were not enforced. It made it hard for everyone. Do not turn my new home into my old lawless home. Gracias. |

I am a Baltimore business owner and I want to let other Baltimore business owners and consumers know of a company that offers a great service and allows business owners to take a stance against illegal immigration - www.LegalEmployer.com . I now proudly display their seal in my storefront proclaiming that I am I-9 compliant - meaning I have proof that all of my employees are legally able to work here. It is simple - no jobs - no illegal alien problem. Baltimore it is simple - we need to take a stance. Consumers- look for the Legal Employer seal before you buy a product or service from a company - stop supporting the problem of Illegal Immigration which is draining our budgets and our county and state services.

"Don't Divide Our Families"
Then get the hell out of America and take your illegal mother, brother sister, father, aunt, uncle, cousins and anchor babies with you. Stay united...leave!!! |

Funny, how George Bush says that we cant get 12 million prople out of our country. Mexico didn't have any trouble doing just that!

If the Feds made the rally they could have gotten out the big net and hit the trifecta!
Adios muchachos! |

"The company's owners were not arrested, but authorities said the investigation was continuing."
Isn't this the real story? I read the comment's from people who think shallowly and are short sighted, but what about the people who are really breaking the law...the employers? If I had the opportunity to come to the great America to better the life of my family, you bet I'd do everything I could to accomplish it. Think for just a minute about your own family and what you would sacrifice for it. Don't hate the people who try, enforce the rules already in place. |

You would think that since Nicolas Ramos came in the right way (if he really did), he would fight for those trying to get legal, not those breaking the law.
To JRP, it's not shallow to dislike those who break the law by coming here illegally, but I do agree that the owners of Annapolis Paint should be arrested and charged as well as fined right out of business. If he no longer has a business or all those rental homes, he can't hire and house illegals. Maybe they could take all of his rental properties and donate them to Habitat for Humanity. All of Habitat's homeowners are legal. |

No one said they received any kind of warrant," he said. "We are very concerned about what happened here," he said
OH YA, wouldn't want to do an ILLEAGAL search and arrest of such honest people. |
|
|
I say we start aboycott of Annapolis Paint and run them out of buisiness for hiring these illegals in the first place . I for one will never do business with them or any one who does. It's the economc boycott used by Martin Luther King so effectively.

Makes you kinda wonder whether the "right way" was the 1986 amnesty... |
|
And for any politician who says that we cannot get rid of them is unpatriotic. |

Hey, Jessica Alvarez. I hope there are more raids. It's time to get these ILLEGAL ALIENS out of this Country and back in their own country where they belong! And oh, as for dividing up the families, take the families and little ANCHORS also. You will not be missed!

What do you mean, "the people who are really breaking the law..."? They are ALL breaking the law, employees, employers - the lot. And expecting to be excused for violating the immigration laws because of wanting to "better life for your family" doesn't cut it either. I could surely better the lives of my family with the proceeds from a bank robbery, but I don't think the police would be very understanding. If you want to live in the USA, start by respecting our right to control who lives here and go through the proper channels. All arguments which ignore that right are merely distractions designed to keep the illegal immigrant from having to admit to criminal behavior. |
