I have had the worst experience in my renting history with Henderson Webb. They can not control their tenants, the apartments are never cleaned before you move in, they do not handle maintenance concerns in a timely manner as per the Maryland Landlord/Tenant Laws, shall I go on? If you are looking to obtain a apartment in the Cockeysville area, think twice before you rent with Henderson Webb!

I have the worse experience with Henderson Webb. INC. too. They never think about their bad service to the tenants. They charge you by making up unreal document to cover their mistake. If you are not strong enough, don't try to do business with this company.

Henderson-Webb is the worst property managment company tyhat I've seen in 30 years in the buisiness. Since March 12, 2009 maitenance has been in my apartment 32 different times. They have violated the lease multiple times. WhenI complained they sent me a notice that I had violated the rules and further complaints will not be heard. I've never!!!!!

Henderson-Webb is the worst apartment complex to deal with. I had lived there for almost four years. The security door was broken three years out of the whole time I stayed there. Also, the compressor in the refridgerator went up which cost me alot of money for me to refill my refridgerator and freezer back up. This also caused damage to the carpet and gave an awful smell throughout the apartment. When my daughter became pregnant we outgrew our apartment and I had bought a house. I thought after a year we were on a month to month lease. We werent and as a result they are now suing me for the remainder of my time and the cost of the lawyer fees. If anyone out there wants an apartment please reconsider Henderson-Webb they are not about the people they are a business as stated from the renters office when I had spoken to them on several occasions to work things out to resolve the issue. I have known other apartment complexes to work out arrangements with people without giving them a hard time especially with the economy the way it is now. If there are any lawyers out there who can help me I would greatly appreciate this also.
Thanks

i believe all the comment placed here, I'm a new tenant of this company namely in Essex. It is my first time renting. When I moved in the place was never cleaned. Their excused was there was no electricity. The maintenace guy refused to show up for repairs and when they do its often part of the work being done, one portion one day next portion two three days after (if you re lucky). They will sneaked into the apt without your knowledge for alleged inspection of work done, Duh??? The work hasnt begun how can you inspect. To date I'm still waiting for the thermostat to be change. There is no heat. When I bathed and wash a few pieces of dishes there is no hot water for most of the day.
The neighbors are a night mare from hell, as I mentioned I'm new to this type of living; my neighbor about me has one child that runs in the apt during the day. the adults walk as though they are in a marching band(being modest). The entire nights are spent trying to get some sleep because almost every night the couple walks very heavily throughout the apt. why I cant say, but peace and quiet is a luxury.
A new neighbor moved in next door recently. There was noise noise noise for the last month or more. The noise ended when one member was thrown out of the apt and the police got involved. One would assumed that was the end of the noise, no mam. The male has some 'strange' characters entering the building; folks ringing other ppl buzzing asking to be let into the building. Over night visitors leaving the next day, loud arguments. Its only two months since that person moved in.
The hallway smelled like cigarettes, imagine my allergy to cigarette smoke, I'm continuously coughing.
The doors to the apt are painted in prison cells color grey. I have never seen the door to an apartment painted in grey in all history of renting.
Henderson-Webb since this is a business dont you think your tenants deserved some respect. What company allows their staff to enter a person 'space' under the guised of doing maintenace work, how urgent is that work that it has to be done in the absence of the tenant, secondly why inspections are done in the absence of the tenants. I smell more than fish here.
Last but not least, has anyone notice that when you paid rent at the drop box on the 5th of the month how the payment is taken longer and longer to postto your account. Is this an attempt to get unlawful late fees from the tenant. No one is at the drop box site after lunch on the 4th of the month, therefore no receipt of payment.
Why Why, this isnt all the complains, I'm being nice eg try bathing in a tub without a stopper and washing in the dish washer which has broken rollers the stacked tray cannot roll out or in, try listening to the fridge dripping water every other day and the noise of the motor on a daily basis. Oh my Goodness what a business the tenants are not respected.

Caustiouly awaiting the company response. I bet you that it will be along the lines,if and when repairs are done we have to increase the rent to ....did you say some benjamins? I'll end here...
A person living in a palace looks over his porch, sees his neighbor living in a box and walk away with tilted head will one day have the same experience, but without help.

I live in Southwoods in Essex. Maintenance workers here seem to think they are co-tenants. They are constantly entering my apartment without prior notice for non-emergency reasons. Complaints to customer service get this lame "we have right-of-entry" response. Well, three time in the past few months I have awakened to find maintenance workers in my apartment. Landlords cannot just enter your home without permission if you are present. Once, I was awakened by maintenance workers knocking on my bedroom door, saying they were there for a housekeeping inspection. What he hell? This isn't a military barracks or a prison, where I can be rousted out of bed for inspection.
And I'm told I'm in violation of the housekeeping clause of my lease, because of a fire hazard created by my many books and magazines. Of course, the Baltimore County Fire Department says it is only a fire hazard if heat source is nearby. One isn't, but try telling H-W that. I mean, libraries and bookstores burn down every week, right?

. They try to come into my place unannounced whenever they feel like it for no reason, then they make up bogus reasons. When I'm home I put a door jam on which prevents the door from opening, so those dumbasses tried to get in while I was sleeping last week "to replace the thermostat" which was replaced last month, that was their excuse for trying to enter my apt illegally this time. Since the door jam was on they couldn't get in, but if they rang the bell or knocked instead of trying to enter illegally I wouldve told them to f off myself (maybe to rob me or try to catch my girl naked, who knows?) they are criminals. The best part is that they are demanding a key to my "new deadbolt" since they couldn't get in. well I have the same lock as I did 3 years ago and those idiots have been in here plenty of times. They r just thugs and will be met with deadly force if I feel threatened

I would like to warn any perspective college students, their parents & other renters about renting any unit from Henderson-WEBB Inc. My daughter lived in an apartment in Cockeysville & has finally been able to move out after graduation. The landlord service was DEPLORABLE!!! After continual phone calls to them about a broken toilet & a hole in the ceiling tiles in the bathroom, someone finally showed up months later without the proper parts to compleat the repair, vowing to return. Until the day she moved out, they never showed up again, leaving that toilet unflushable & the rest of the bathroom a dripping mess from the ceiling whenever anyone would shower in the apartment upstairs. The unvented bathroom was always damp & moldy. Her dealings with other tenants revealed that she was certainly not alone with service problems, it seemed to be rampant in this apartment complex. Since we are out of state, if anyone knows of an agency in Maryland who registers tenant complaints, please reply to this message board. I would at least like to prevent someone else from getting involved with this outfit. She now is renting a rowhome from a private landlord & the difference in maintenance & attitude is AMAZING!

I was trapped in this hell hole called the Bluffs at Fairway Hills in the beautiful area of Dorsey Search Columbia...sounds like a dream...more like a nightmare. I had no issues with maintenance. My issue is with management. It's not customer service. They are low paid workers so it's not their fault. It's that management company!!! They are the most horrible m.f.s in Maryland. No one likes this management company. I've talked to other apartment management people and they even hate HW because they know that we, the tenents, had a hard time while there. I wished I could take these people to court for what they do, but I can't do it alone.
I hope that complaining about them will help others not to move to any of these places. The walls are thin, they let in anyone and everyone. People break into cars and jimmy the locked building doors. The police were constantly over for whatever. My building was okay, but that back area...I never went back there.
I hope someone will understad that we, current and former tenents, know what we are talking about when it comes to HW.
No, I'm not maintenance and not a customer service rep, but I feel for them because everyone thinks it's their fault.

Try that legal aid. I had them for the time I need them and then when I was finished, I cancelled my subscription. It is like $20 a month, but it was worth it. They sent letters on my behalf and the mgmt company left me alone.

OMG! DO NOT RENT FROM HENDERSON WEBB!!! This weekend my air conditioning wasn't working and I called on Saturday to have it fixed and was told that, "Corporate has told us we are not to page anyone for a/c repairs this weekend." WHAT?!?!? It was 92 yesterday! My apt was almost 100 degrees inside! The answering service said that corporate has decided it's not hot enough to fix air conditioners until next week - since when is it up to them to decide that? I pay every month for all of my appliances to work WHENEVER I NEED THEM! If I want my a/c on in December, that's my right! I could not believe what I was hearing. When I called this morning to have them come out and fix it, the lady told me that she had already talked to 22 people completely irate about their a/c not working on the first hot weekend of the year and she had 33 calls in que and she was sure they were all going to be about this. On top of that, I live on the ground floor with my 17 year old daughter and was not about to leave my windows and doors open while we slept since a girl across my hall was raped 2 weeks ago in the middle of the night. If anyone else had this problem this weekend, please post to this page, I would love to get a group of people together and take them to court. I read about the moldy showers above, I have the same problem, never seen anything like it and last year the apt above me flooded down into my apt and they have yet to fix the walls that were ruined when water was raining down on us...FROM THE TOILET!!!

I agree. I lived in Mountain Ridge in Glen Burnie. I was so taken with the lay out of the apartment equipped with a breakfast bar, and cathedral ceilings. But that was as far as the good stuff went. My first day in the apartment, I'm greeted by compkete darkness. NO ELECTRICITY. Usually apartments give you the chance to get the lights turned on. My air conditioner broke in the month of July and stayed broken until the middle of August. I had to stay with other people because the jeat was unbearable. and you know what customer service told me? It wasnt an emergency. I broke my lease and got the hell out. No turning back.

Lauren - this site is for people to tell how it is with complaints, not to lie about how great it is at Henderson Webb. We couldn't give two sh*ts if its great to work there. We as tenants have been lied to and treated like we aren't humans and have no rights.
I have been screwed by HennWebb since even before I got to move in. Nothing but lies from the start, about animals, Renting, random un-schedualed visits from maintenance and lies when trying to leave this sh*thole. One of these days their maintenance ppl will be shot for breaking and entering. You don't know once then start to come in. When I hear someone trying to get in my house unannounced I grab my gun.

For about a year now, every time I want to take a shower or wash dishes, I have to hit the reset button on the hot water heater. I have had maintenance look at it four times and each time they say something different.(e.g. The dial was set too high, the dial was set too low, it works fine) My unsigned lease (yeah they renew you for a whole new year without you knowing) ends soon again so I will be looking elsewhere to live.

I am in agreement with everyone of you. I had some very bad experiences at Hidden Woods. I lived their for 8 years, and finally had enough and moved out. I am now being sued by HW for the recoupment of their monies because they claimed I broke my lease. I have had about enough of HW. They are money hungry individuals and they need to be stopped dead in their tracks. It is time we consumers do something about HW. We need to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Maryland Attorney's General Office, Consumer Complaint Agency, and any other agency we can get our hands on. We need to go public with the way HW run their apartment dwellings. We need to get the Maryland laws to change to protect the consumer apartment renters. It is the landlord's responsibility to honor the lease just as much as the tenant. When he doesn't, then the courts need to hit him in the pockets. Perhaps then, you won't have as many slumlords.
