We live in a welfare state, i.e. we keep asking for, or they [legislators] just enact, more and more programs that the state provides but, in turn, we do not want to pay the taxes to support those programs. We need to stop relying on the state for so much. The government has grown to massive and is reliant on over-taxing and over-burdening the workers. We need to cut programs so the state can work within its means so taxes do not go up every year.
We need to look better at the programs we have! A big budget chunk goes into housing children we take away from their families. Did you know it can cost $100's/night in a facility that keeps children?

What if we spent more to strengthen families? We would rather be quick to judge the parent & take their kids away. I learned a long time ago, spend $30 to change my oil regularly and the more expensive fixes will be fewer & far between.

That is the most supidist thing I ever heard of from the democrats. But most will go for it. Mailing the check to the homeowners will not help with tax relief since our mortgage payment increase will be based on the total amount the mortgage co had to pay out for our taxes not the rebated amount. I hope to God there are smart one in the legistator and they change that.

I have a Republican state senator and a Republican house member. They never saw a socialist program they didn't like. Plus, they lick the boots of the Feds for every dime they can get, sacrificing our liberties and States Rights in the process.

How much more does state government cost now than 5 years ago? It's a disgrace what these people are doing. And the public school fiefdom (thiefdom), answerable to no one?

We need funding propositions on our ballots so we can say NO to higher taxes, NO to more public school warehouses, NO to "consolidation" of townships under unconstitutional central managers, NO to the child snatchers and busybodies. How do we make that happen?

As was mentioned here earlier. "The old checks in the mail gag."

Give us (the tax payers) a break. Just don't take it out of our pockets in the first place.

Well you will get a pay raise but it won't do any good.

I am going to propose a tax on fast food, alcohol, bottled water, all health food and in case someone has no vices a non-sin tax on all bibles.

Can you think of anything else? I'll double your rebate!

That's almost so simple, it's incredible how over-simplified it is.

So, if one is living within his/her means and the cost of living goes up faster than income, is it possible the train just doesn't stop fast enough? Now, let's look at heating prices, gasoline & and increased property taxes... I could stand in the pool before, but now it's over my head and no one told me I had to know how to swim!
