God forbid the vipers in the statehouse ever learn to tighten the belt and work with the money they have. If they did that, however, where would their kickbacks and self-approved raises come from.

Way to stick it to IU. How could the Dems let this happen?

This is a democratic or republican thing....this is the people getting screwed over by our elected officials. They forget they work for us. We are not their slaves. We need to vote for people who promise to reduce property taxes, as well as all other taxes.
Look around you and you see why costs of government have gone up. We build billion dollar stadiums, we let out police use patrol cars as personal vehicles that burn up your money in gas, and I am sure there are many, many more.
Vote the bums out!

I wish the Hoosiers would come to
Nebraska and fight for tax relief. These people just let 'em stick it to
them and say nothing. We're 5th highest taxed state in U.S. I fight
but people just say, "but we've got
A university", "and a state capitol".
As if In. didn't!!! And more than one
university!! Help!!

They're all a bunch of idiots. Though Bauer is 0 for 2 lately. First he wanted to reduce the gas tax, now he wanted to have rebate checks. Yeah, we all know how that worked when the Feds did it with that 300 or 600 buck check, just reappeared at the end of the year for what we owed.

They seem to be content just putting it off again when people want a real fix, not the usual peacemeal crap.

Rebate check will not help if you don't have the money to pay your taxes now!!!!!!!!!!

Another budget session, another bunch of idiotic ideas, another special session is likely. Yet, the politicos found another way to give themselves a raise. I think we need another group of legislators.

I, like many others pay my taxes when they come---the county (Hancock) however does not believe in tax relief---we got a new wheel tax a couple years ago so we can drive our cars on roads full of potholes---out here in the country

I pay a drainage ditch fee on my property taxes--- the ditch is 5 miles away from me and the surface water has to go UPHILL for a quarter mile before it can even think about flowing

The ditches are useless----smoothed over by neighbors and the road has been rebuilt so many times it is almost a foot higher than my property leaving rainwater in my yard with no where to go

Most of the tax money goes to the schools------I have not had a child in school for over 18 years and he went to an un airconditioned school and did just fine

Soo keep on taxing ( taking ) away

I'll look for my meagor check in the mail----most likely next year sometime

When everyone has to write the check twice a year rather than having it taken a little at a time each month, maybe then they will wake up. These elected Officials, CROOKS-BUMS are not fooling anyone, they make the laws that screw the rest of us. Then turn around and praise themselves for giving us a BREAK. BREAK my eye, There would not be a crisis if these BUMS were thrown out. Demos good Reps bad, Reps good Demos bad this is all we hear, while they are still plundering our pocketbooks for money many don't have. Plants closing, jobs disappearing, but taxes increasing, and they want to throw crumbs at the poor ignorant serfs. The system is corrupt and the sooner we figure this out, maybe our children will have a chance.

Why do you think that they do the budget as far away from elections as possible? Because people forget.

VOTE LIBERTARIAN AND ALSO LOBBY YOUR LOCAL LEGISLATOR TO ADOPT A STATE VERSION OF THE FAIR TAX. There's not a taxed nickel's worth of difference between Republicans and Democrats.

The legislature is on drugs. For weeks they do nothing and now they're gonna raise cigarette taxes, waste the money on fullday kindergarten, and mail us a check to soothe the pain of the massive tax increases to come ?
