Since when do the police give out the names of minors in the newspaper? Shouldn't she have just been called his nine year old daughter or something? I don't know but that looks really weird to me.

What happened to the gun he used in the holdup if he doesn't have it now and whose wife did they interview in Fortuna...

Her name had already been released when her father pulled an armed robbery with her standing by his side. Police were looking for her as if she wa a missing person. That's why she was named.

tom tom, I was wondering the same thing. The story made it sound like she was sitting in the car with him. I think the police must have called his wife on the phone to check on the possibility of a kidnapping. If the wife had been there then there would have been no reason to leave the child with a friend while he ran errands. Reading some articles is like watching a CSI, but it isn't just the T-S. My paper had an article this morning about the Prius and said that the Prius started selling in the U.S. in 2000. "U.S. sales of Prius hit 180,000 in 2007." Was that cummulative from 2000 to end of 2007 or just total sales in 2007?

Saw the video of the robbery on cable news last night.
I can't believe he had his daughter in the store right next to him when he pulled out the gun.
This guy is a freakin' idiot, and his daughter will be much better off if he is locked away for a long time so that he can no longer be a negative influence upon her.

I want to hear more about the child lacking health care where her family is from, sounds like there's a drinking problem by more than one parent...

I'm pretty sure they only protect the names of minors if they are victims of a crime, and other than being left with an acquaintance, I don't think she was a victim really (other than a victim of having an F'ed up dad).

Oh and, "A countywide “be on the lookout” was issued among law enforcement"

...isn't it called an APB? What's WRONG with you ppl over at the Untimely Sub-Standard???

First of all, why was Webb allowed to remain in his vehicle while they were determining if there was a kidnapping involved? Where was the police backup? If they ran the plate and knew he was wanted with warrants they should be calling for backup immediately. It really concerns me that this guy got away. I think our cops are in over their heads.

Law eforcement calls it a "Be On the Lookout" otherwise known as a BOL. Why are you such a persistent idiot?

Life sucks when you have to rob a store with your nine year old daughter. They must really need money to pay bills and eat.

"At-large robbery suspect abandons daughter in Fortuna"

Well, aside form the dope problem, that area does have a great social service system! Transients flock to take a bite!

Isn't it interesting that we do have all these welfare programs and the like, but we still have the Webb's out there? Go figure!

An alcoholic with a gun says he is stealing money for his daughter's health care. Should we believe him?

Criminals love making excuses for their criminal behavior.

"I only threatened to kill an innocent store clerk because I was serving a higher cause."

Oh, yeah! You must be a really noble fella.

Sure, you are.

How did you conclude the father had custody? The original call was a possible kidnapping.

Clearly the Mom has issues because look at who she chose to procreate with. She also dissolved the restraining order she had against him. Not a smart move Mom. While nobody is perfect, some are closer then others.

Maybe some agencies somewhere still call it an APB but here in Humboldt, and throughout California, it is called a BOLO (Be On the LookOut). I think APB went out of style after the series Dragnet went off the air. J/K

A father without work/funds-worried about his child--thinking he had no place to turn.

What would you do?

His mistake was robbery witha firearm--we are going to see more of this I am afraid.
