And you should move to San Francisco where the rest of the fairies are. The whole State is a neverland.

Can't say I blame you. Unfortunately I'm here on humanitarian grounds. Market St. joints are super seedy. Good thing you didn't end up in the Castro ("Trade Winds" is very close). "Tadich Bar and Grill" is the oldest Restaurant in the city and considered to the be the best of fare. "Buena Vista" has the best Irish coffee in the country! Lots of top notch cusine here, with way too many dumps and traps I'll agree.
I've been told that California is like a bowl of cereal; when you remove the fruits and nuts all that left is the flakes ;). I'm native West Virginian(to the bone!).

on reclaimed land donated by Alpha Resources. The
Governor was there for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

He was at the airport looking the 2500 acres that goes with it. He was on the next mountain over looking the 3000 acres over where the new school is being built. He's been there many times. Say what you will, but when this land is developed by the King Coal Highway, he'll have a stake in it someway. He probably already has a deed for a sizeable chunk of this property. The rich businessmen were the ones who forced the kids up on top of this scrubby mountain.

Most comments on this blog don't stand a chance unless you are for MTR. It is such a shame that local people care so little about our (and their) mountains. They don't care at all to destroy our beautiful mountains as long as they are getting a payday. There is nothing wrong with earning a living, but just because you work at MTR, you can still be for saving our mountains. This is a free country. You do have freedom of speech. It is as though if you work MTR, you have to support MTR. That compares to working at a store that sells liquor and tobacco. That doesn't mean you support drinking and smoking. Get some backbone. In case some of you out of state bloggers missed the news back when Darryl Hannah was here in support of our mountains, the local news showed coverage of the event. One miner said "just get rid of the mountains, they ain't good for nothin, you can't farm em". Another miner was heard saying "Let's go blow up some mountains". Can you believe the mentality of our coalminers? Not all miners are like those miners, but it sure doesn't do anything for the coal miner image. I am not slamming coal miners. I am a coal miner's daughter and proud of it. Not only does Blankenship buy the elected officials, he brags publicly about it. Also there is a video on youtube where Coal River Mt Watch was discussing MTR with our Governor Manchin. Manchin can be heard saying there needs to be a balance made between MTR and saving our mountains. He said that was hard to do in an "extraction state". A lady spoke up and said "we are the mountain state".

I will not go as far as to say Don Blankenship is buying the elections but the voting machines are rigged and until they are replaced and we go back to the paper ballet the same crooks will keep getting elected.

Regarding windmills. How in the hell do these tree huggers expect to find a level place on a mountain to build them? How are they going to get a road to get up there? Answer:MTR.
I was wondering who was gonna open this box? This is a big fkn HELLO isn't it. The mountains will be flattened with no reclaim we will have all of the same problems ppl. are bitching about but ya see my friends here is the thing the government does not give a shit about and will not fix also will not be no regulations on the water run off..etc because when is the last time we relied on our government and came out ahead. We are supposed to be a free nation and are falling under a resheim as we speak healthcare, banks, laws, our elections are a joke..coal mining is owned and operated by the ppl. not by the government if they fall they WILL be government owned and operated! Just another way for the government to get their hands on something they want. The bad thing everyone is dumb enough to help them do it.Activists had better start fighting for WV period because this is way beyond MTR it's gonna happen one way or another or both anyways! We had better start opening our eyes and understand either your for WV or your NOT and if your not then get the hell out!

Don Blankenship is too greedy to be intelligent. He can't see that his environmental miscues are dragging down his company and the entire industry with him. His nick-name is "Anaconda", he squeezes the life out of the competition. this is one title he's earned. I long for the day when he, the Governor, and the whole bunch at the D.E.P. are indicted for what they've done to this State.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Aries

A certain person is being very feisty and fiery today. You may also suspect that they're looking for an argument and will provoke you until you rise to the bait. Trigger points include shared finances, sex and any topic that is currently supposed to be off-limits. You'll probably discover that you want to clear the air, but don't get carried away.
