Mingo mother fights to get daughter in school without shots

A Mingo County mother says her child has a right to a free education in a public elementary school -- and a right not to be immunized against disease.

No she does not deserve to be put in a school without shots she could harm other students and workers.

I don't think this child should be able to join other students in the school system without it's shots. That is putting our children and workers in danger. The child won't be allowed to go to college without the shots when its older and wont be able to work among the public...all this woman is doing is putting this childs life in danger and causing it future trouble

If she dosn't gt her child's shots which could save her life or at least keep her froming gettin sick all the time then thats her business but when it comes to putting this child in the school system with ours I think it isn't just about her or her child it effects the whole community because it puts our children at a greater risk to bing expose to harmful dieases. If the child isn't immunized then she should have to be home schooled or sent somewhere else.

I attened SWVCTC and now Marshall and they both required my shot records before I could attend classes...If it wasn't law then why did I have to track down my records before they would let me into class?

Yes they ask but you do not have to give them. Religion is one thing that stops the school from demanding them.

Regardless of why you are asked for shot records you are still asked to have them. The newspaper reports say that the DHHR said that the child was healthy enough to get the shots. They didn't recommend exemption so this girl should have to get her shots like the other children in our schools or not attend.Although some illnesses, like polio and measles, have been eliminated in the United States, they are still important causes of disease and death in many parts of the world. And as the rapid spread of SARS showed, infections can quickly spread across the world, so getting your kids vaccinated is still important.
There were only 2,883 documented cases of polio in the world in recent years, but there were nearly 900,000 measles-related deaths among persons in developing countries and it is estimated that if vaccinations were stopped, each year, 2.7 million measles deaths worldwide could be expected.

Other infections, like mumps and Haemophilus Influenzae Type b (Hib) Meningitis, would also likely climb to pre-vaccine era numbers and deaths.

In places that immunization coverage was reduced in recent years, increases in vaccine preventable infections are common, including surging rates of pertussis in eight countries where immunization coverage was reduced and increases in diphtheria in the former Soviet Union when they had a breakdown of their public health services in the 1990s. Children who haven't had a vaccine put all kids at risk, including children too young to receive their vaccinations.Vaccines are considered the greatest public health achievement of the 20th century. That we now, in the 21st century, are stepping backwards and taking the risk that these vaccine preventable diseases may return is tragic. This child is more susceptible to contagious, deadly dieases and if she catches something then is more likely to spread these dieases on than a child who has had their shots. It is this woman's right to not get her child vaccinated but then she should be prepared to except what happens. The child is a health risk and many don't feel comfortable with her in the same school with their children, home school her or sent her somewhere else anyway from our children. They are trying to protect this girls right to an education...she can still get an education but who is protecting our childrens right to go to school and not worry about her bringing a deadly diease in on them. And statistic show children not vaccienated are more likely to catch these dieases.

I think the DHHR should call this child neglect and do something about it because it is a danger to everyone not to get the shots so if it is against the moms religion the child could catch something that could really make it sick or even cause death even children with disabilities have to get shots it only harms the child and some one needs to do something

Did you know Mercury is put in the shots, how about Formaldehyde, Aluminum, Hydrochloric acid, Aspartame, Thimerosal? Most people don’t have any clue about what is in a vaccine, let alone the harm that it does to your childrens body.

I feel as a parent it should be your right to choose whether or not your child is injected with who knows what.

everyone has had there kids vacinated and yes people know what is in the shots cause they give you info when they get them. And the adults are suppost to get a food handlers permit to work with food and have a TB test what do u think is in that so I know most of the people working in the town of lenore doesnt have the food handlers permit or had a TB test and how do u know what the hell u will get like that marys diner even had a notice on the door that the owner didnt pay comp on the employees and that the owner was still liable for them if they got injured so what the hell cheeches needs to put in some lights so you can see what you are eating its hard to say what your eating there dairy delight needs to clean the place up its about as nasty as the bar was there was roaches everywhere in that bar marys diner needs to clean there place it looks like crap the floor is always nasty and the kitchen really could use a gr8 overhaul and the owner needs to stop drinking so much and run the place and get rid of all the marcums and hire a new staff and hire someone that will clean the bathrooms they smell like piss I wont eat there anymore.so if you eat out in lenore what are you gonna catch stop worring about 1 kid and worrie about the whole town cause it is all under attack.

My first child which was vaccinated, I received ZERO information. Do like I said sheeple request an ingredients list just like on your food and watch what happens. No Propaganda here. It is very much true and there are tons of documents that back this case. The problem is people just accept what is handed to them on a silver platter. People educate yourself about the world you live in!

I don't know about you caitlin but I like my mercury in the thermostat where it belongs, not in my childrens shots. The 1 good thing that would come from your love affair with your shots is that there will be less of your type in the gene pool. I do feel for your children and grand children though.

Don't let them stick your children until they provide you with a "detailed" list of what in the shots and try to stay clam when they deny you.
