Jelly Bean Junction is a much better facility. It may not have newer buildings like Play School does. It is what is on the inside that counts. The workers and owner are much better with the children. My child was at Play School for about 6 months and the care/safety provided was pathetic. The children at Play School are not well supervised and you hardly ever find the owner Kathy Wilson there. The only bright spot about Play School is Ms. Cheryl Osborn who works with the kids. She is really good at what she does.
For example when my child was there I noticed several electrical receptacles that did not have coverings on them. There were open boxes with bar electrical wires exposed. I mentioned this to them and I was told they were not live wires and the plugs were not working. I then picked up a radio and plugged it in. It powered on. So if a child would have stuck their fingers in there the child would have been electrocuted. There were also instances when I picked my child up and they had a dirty diaper and the poop had dried and hardened in the diaper. That shows me that it had not been changed in a long time or even checked. There were times at Play School when I picked up my child and he had been sitting in a walker for a while and pee was dripping onto to the floor from his diaper being so full.

On the other hand you at Jelly Bean you all most always will find Ms. Marilyn the owner there. Ms. Janie her second in command is spectacular as well. Then there is Ms. Amber who is wonderful with the kids. The other workers there do a wonderful job also. If you want the best child care in Todd County you will go with Jelly Bean Junction. Never had any problems with Jelly Bean like I had with Play School.

I absoutley LOVE taking my child there. He is one and has been there since he was 8 weeks old. As he was my first child, I done a lot of checking around with parents in the community and heard nothing but great comments. I'm sure they do make mistakes, as no one here on earth is perfect. Kathy is wonderful, and she is there everyday. It may not be for 12 hours straight everyday, but she is there. They always call me at the the slightest little thing with my child, just to let me know, which I really appreciate. I have recommended Play School to a couple of friends and they attend there now. You can defiently go by there and get a tour of the facility, and check things out. I'm not for sure if they have any openings right now though, back in July they had a long waiting list. And that in itself should tell you their reputation :)

TOTALLY AGREE!! Had the exact same experience...Janie and Marilyn are AMAZING!! And by the way Jellybean has an extended waiting list as well, which speaks of their reputation. Also many teacher's children go to Jellybean. It's a developemental center which means they have instructional time and can deal w/ handicap children..They are AMAZING!!

I totally agree with Jellybean! There ratings are so much better. Playschool doesnt even stick with the ratio law. if you know what that means. It pretty much means that there can only be 5 under the age of 1 with one adult. its much more safer. I know someone that worked there and they said they would never take their kids there. So that goes to show ya.

What tells you of their reputation is the talk in the community and most sensible minded and caring parents will tell you that Jelly Bean Junction is a much more caring facility. Pre-school teachers in our community will even tell you that they can see a difference between the children coming to preschool who have been in Jelly Bean and at Play School. The kids from Jelly Bean are better prepared for preschool. Like the other person stated many teachers from North and South Todd Elementary, Todd County Middle School, and Todd Central High School take or have taken their kids to Jelly Bean because of it being a better child care facility. If teachers are willing to put their children there like they do then they are giving their vote of approval to Ms. Marilyn, Ms. Janie, and all the staff at Jelly Bean Junction.

My daughter was attending kathy wilsons day care and I would not recommend it...each time I picked my lil grl up she had a filthy face, always dirty and walked in once while a teenage grl who didn't even work there had put her n a corner because another kid took a toy away from her and she was trying to get it back...kathy was really nice but I don't feel that they had enough staff...

First of all... this is slander and you should be ashamed!!!! I have worked here for over 4 years!!! My child has been here since she was 6 weeks old!! She is now 3... she knows every color, shape, she reconizes many letters and can even write some! She is very independent and has alot of knowledge that many three year olds don't have! I know its because of this day care that she is so smart! We are a three star center, affiliated with the army, and the head start program!! This is a great center with a freindly staff and our kids enjoy coming! None of what is being said is true!!!! We even changed the kids clothes before they leave if they have on a dirty shirt....if the parents bring extra clothes! And Mr. Wilson wouldn't allow wires to be exposed or outlets to be uncovered he is all about the SAFETY of this place!!! And yes Ms.Sheryl is a wonderful teacher, but there are MANY teachers that deserve praise in our center!!We all work VERY hard here and this offends me!!!

Well of course a teacher/employees child would be very taken care of. Why would they neglect a child who has a parent on the permises.

Well if you say off of what has been said is wrong. Can you tell me what about the employee who worked ( I don't know if she still does or not) who was known to go to sleep while children were awake, and place them in rooms where she wasn't at? It's a fact that parents have went to pick their child up and she would answer the door with her hair all messed up and sleepy look in her eyes, and not to mention the times she was seen on the cellphone while she should have been watching the kids. Or what about one employee being there at night when there is 8 or more kids there. At night, where that daycare is not safe. Out in a field, with lots of glass windows. The bathroom always smelled horrible everytime I was there.

And whatever happened to documenting falls? Every daycare I've ever been to had to document every bump, fall, scrape or whatever. But not there, if it isn't a major incident it gets pushed under the door.

I love Playschool. My younger sister started going to Playschool when the daycare was still at Kathy and Glenn's home. I would go during summer breaks as I was still in Elementary school and to young to stay at home alone. Once they opened the new daycare on 68/80 my sister also went there until she was older. Once I had my first son I took him to Playschool. He loved it he knew his colors, numbers and some letters by the time he was three. The teachers took great care of him and he enjoyed it. We would always get an accident report and he was never dirty when he would be picked up, nor would his diaper be dirty. I know plenty of people that have worked at Jellybean and would not recommend it, they would not even take there kids to Jellybean while they worked. If I was not now a stay at home mom then I would still have both of my children enrolled in Kathy Wilson's daycare. Kathy is great, the teachers are great and the daycare center ahs been rated very well by the state.

I have worked at Playschool for four years and if there were anything like this going on, I would not be working there. Let alone let my child attend there for those years. It's a great place to work with kind and caring people. I'm sorry that this person felt the need to run the playschool name through the mud. Kathy and Glenn Wilson are kind considerate people to the kids, parents and us. I am saddened that they have gotten their feeling hurt over this.

Load of crap, I used to volunteer there, and I had a friend that worked at Jellybean. She quit Jelly bean because of all the lying and neglect that happened there. Really, I think you have your daycares mixed up, because they fudge the diaper logs at Jellybean, and they don't even HAVE walkers at Playschool, and Glenn was forever installing or fixing something to make it safer. jellybean always had too many kids per adult unless the inspector was coming for a visit.

I would never, EVER take my child to Jellybean even if it was free. Playschool would be the only place, they are just sooo good with the kids and the employees are happy to be there, unlike Jelllybean where the are yelled at, berated, and threatened that if they don't initial the diaper change sheet for times that they weren't even on duty, they will lose their jobs. It's a miserable place with miserable people. Shit rolls down hill, and you kids are at the bottom of that hill at Jellybean.

I have a child at playschool and some of these things r true. Yes my child comes home with dirty clothes sometimes but come on there kids!!!!!! I did have a problem with the diapers and now that she is potty trained I'm still having problems they never check to see if kids clean themselves after using the restroom and in return my child still gets rashes and doesn't even wear diapers anymore. I always see Kathy and Glenn there and if not I have both cell numbers and house number if I did need something. I do agree that they are understaffed and never go by the ratio law. Most staff working there are rude and hateful and never helpful to the parents and children.

I was an EMPLOYEE for Jellybean not a "volunteer" and I can GUARANTEE you that YOU are the one that's mistaken. Jellybean goes to extremes to make sure they supply quality care. I think Kathy is great and so is Playschool... but so is Jellybean. I don't understand you people?? Why would you wan to run down either facility? Both are working hard to take care of people's number one responsibilty, their children! I was told there was something on here about these facilties and I had to read it for myself. I'm new to "topix" and couldn't believe that people would want to waste their time bad mouthing childcare facilties. As I said...Jellybean is great and so is Playschool. I want to apologize to Ms. Marilyn, Mrs. Janie, and Mrs. Kathy for this stupidity. You are all doing a great job taking care of this counties youth! Thanks for all you do! I know you are highly underappreciated!

Some one ASKED or opinions. We gave our opinions. I am of the opinion that Jellybean is bad and Playschool is good. I am of that opinion because friend was an "employee" at Jellybean and told me horrible things, and every person I know who had a child there, removed them from Jellybean. If you would read the original post you wouldn't be so confused.
