The StarTribune says the person was walking away from their car after losing control and crashing it. So which is it, car or motorcycle?

That's an oddly specific time to announce the person's identity. How do they know they will know by then?

11:40 PM? Is it possible that the motorcyclist who somehow lost control of his motorcycle on a dead straight interstate, could have been intoxicated, and then staggered into traffic while attempting to walk somewhere.
Sounds plausible to me. Don't assume the driver of the car was to blame.
Obviously, we don't have the facts to make any of these conslusions.

This happened near where I used to live once. The driver of a car was in an accident on the highway, and apparently was dazed or not in his right mind immediately after, and simply wandered out into traffic.

You also hear of motorcyclists who are so full of adrenaline and freaked out after crashing that they try to stand up and walk only to find they hadn't noticed their leg was broken or something.

People, when shocked like that, don't always know what they are doing.

RIP rider.

It's clear from the news report that again, not too much was reported. What circumstances lead to the driver of the car hitting the pedistrian? Why was he driving on the shoulder? Was HE drunk, talking on the phone, texting or just had his head up his a**??? Idiots, why do you assume it was the bikers fault??? Idiots!

Don't worry they'll test the driver and blame alcohol even if the biker jumped out into traffic

what makes you think the newspaper article was correct. the biker wasn't walking along the road as was written. i happen to know the driver of the car, and no he wasn't drunk, talking on the phone or texting, and if you knew him you would know he doesn't have his head up his***! whatever happened to it being just an accident a terrible accident. instead of condeming either one of the drivers we need to pray for them and their families. as for why the driver was on the side of the road he was tring to not hit the motorcyclist who was skidding across the pavement. i'm not sure why you feel the need to make judgements on anyone one way or another.

From what I saw online neither driver was under the influence of alcohol. It was a tragic accident that I don't think anyone was at fault. I take back my awful comment about him being an idiot walking down the interstate. I never should have said that. I hope everyone realizes no one is too blame.
