There has been no Beatings other than fights between single inmates meaning 1 on 1. And none of the inmates have died as a result of these fights.

Have started an inmate mailing service for those of you who don't always have the time to send out mail to your loved ones. Included are puzzles, postcards, etc. sent 3 times a week, 4 times a month. If this is something that might be beneficial my email is [email protected] Saw the need for the service when some of my own relatives were incarcerated .

I would like to know a few things has there been any deaths or beatings in the last few yrs and if you have someone in the can you send them care packages or money orders? Someone I know might end up there. Also do you know if you can type them letters or do they have to be written and can they get search a word books and so on and how is the food there and are the prices for things they buy cheaper there than in regional jails? Any information will you can give me will help me out a lot to pass on to his family.

I was there and served time for almost 9 years in Huttonsville. I left in 2007 and at that time there was only one Correctional Officer beaten and he pretty much asked for it. Forget watching Oz and other TV shows because Huttonsville may house an occasional hard-case but for the most part, there are no undeserved beating, rapes, murders or anything else there. If something happens to someone there, they usually did something to have it happen - not counting thefts, which are also minimum. You have to remember - IT IS A PRISON. You don't always meet the best people there, whatever you may feel about your family member there. Yes, you love them but they did something wrong just like everyone else there. I had a low 26 number for those of you who understand ... 260.

I do understand. My number was a little lower than yours but not by much. I did a good bit of time. I was there when you could yell "fire in the hole" without hardly any consequence. And there to see tha one change too... To me it was one thing for a guard to enforce rules, address inmate for non compliance etc. For that matter write him up for it if he felt the need. And whatever disiplinary action to follow. Remember Hitler? To me he just did his job to the letter. And was the same yesterday today and tomarrow. That was fine. Im referring to those that were not about anything. That wouldn't be man enough to act all billy bad toward anyone out here, but would come in to work and bow their chests out at you. Not because they're ready to handle you if you get aggressive. But because they're just going to radio back up. And the so called goon squad is going to cuff and shacke you and beat you down. Not by themselves of course. But with multiple ones doing that. How much of a man does it take to do sonething like that? Is what i still find myself wondering about. Ok we see what they (together) can do to one person while chained up

The way i always saw it if guard wanted to cross boundaries with inmate that he knew would cause inmate to want to fight him, then the guard should be willing to (by himself) fight that inmate. Set aside calling for backup, write ups, going to the hole, subjecting inmate to beat down by multiple guards etc. Because im quite certain the inmate is more than willing to back himself up with that. Though it would probably never happen, but i would bet if they were told not to cross over those lines unless willing to fight inmate one on one, alot less of them would be doing that stuff. And yes i remember that guard that got stabbed on B unit. All the inmate wanted was toilet paper. And the guard chose to be f-head toward wrong inmate

While anything CAN happen in these places, and actually may, it is not blown out of proportion version people always think. I was there too. Not saying there were never any rapes there. But most of the time there were so many willing participants trying to give it up. Would be preditors were too busy with them they were to exausted to bother with those unwilling. As far as "juicy" he also had so many following him around that if he ever did "rape" anyone, it would be a very small percent compared to those that were probably stalking him truth be told. And the known gays in there such as juicy were getting theres less than the so called non gays. Referred to as the "undercovers". Ones you would never imagine were partaking in it. And probably increased more since they took out tobacco. What does that have to do with anything? The sexual favors some of them do to get tobacco if they have no other way of paying for it. Therefore increasing the chances of more of them being infected with aids or whatever else they may catch. They didn't get those guys to quit by taking it out. All that did was get them to go to more desparate means to get it.just like the desparate crack head out here.which more and more disease cases in there. Thats why it is so easy for the ones working there to cash in on it

Ive not forgotten the things they did there. I could have written letters to those in position to look in on things. But i knew one of 2 things would happen. They read outgoing and incoming mail. So if they had seen content of my letter there would have been all these convenient ways it somehow got misplaced before making it out of there. Or if it did make it out of there, there would have been all these convenient reasons why they didn't recieve it, therefore didn't know there was anything to at least look in on. So now that I am out and making this public, they will now know they can't say they're unaware of someone trying to bring it to their attention. Regardless of what comes about or not come about, they at least have to pay attention to this now. They cannot say they are unaware now. They count on us just forgetting about it after we get out. Thats why they get away with the things they do.

The staff their broke my leg and ankle when I was in a fight with another inmate. They used it as a chance to beat my ass. Also in 2013 I was shot with rubber bullets and had a gernade thrown at me pepper sprayed they sicked the k9 on me then about six of them punched/ kicked me all over my body. All while I was in segregation. Nothing I did deserved that much force. All I did was kick my door and overflowed my toilet. I got a hundred more stories just like that.
