As I posted earlier, not all vets are behind Obama -
Associated Press Article today -- MOSUL, Iraq -- U.S. soldiers in Mosul awaited the outcome of Tuesday's presidential election that will decide the future of their mission in Iraq, but most of the dining hall TV screens were tuned to sports, not politics, as they ate breakfast. Sgt. James Fowler, 27, of Fresno, Calif., praised the Army for encouraging soldiers to vote and helping them with absentee ballots. He said he voted for Obama but "I am outnumbered 10-to-one, especially among officers" and senior noncommissioned officers who said they wanted John McCain to win. --- 10 to 1 --- for McCain http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/11/04/force... |

Scott T is right on the money. Young Loretta here is definitely looking for something for nothing and relying on Obama to provide that something. Most of us welfare bums are like that. We like taking stuff out of your pockets rich guy and stuffing into our threadbare pockets. We don't even feel like thieves because we already know that you stole it from somebody else. Obama's gonna take care of us younguns.

I do not believe for ten seconds that the active military man in the United States military today votes 10 to 1 against Obama. I don't believe anything the Mainstream Media has to say about anything. In this case as far as I am concerned the Associated Press is lying as to how the active military man/woman feels as to who should be president of these United States. I think they want out of Iraq and Afghanistan. They can see what is happening there. Baloney. That's the word that describes what the Mainstream Media has to say about what the military man thinks. Most of the time the military man has a strong tendency to think what he is told to think. Even young Loretta knows that.

Young Loretta, are you or have you ever been in the military? |

Loretta, just for your info - please note that I did not say that military members were voting 10-1 for Obama, it was an active serviceman who made the statement and I'm sure that was his perception from "voices" of his particular unit.
I don't believe "Military Times" could be considered mainstream media. Their site has this on the election: Military Times poll: Troops backing McCain By Brendan McGarry - Staff writer Posted : Thursday Oct 9, 2008 5:44:48 EDT "Sen. John McCain enjoys overwhelming support from the military’s professional core, a Military Times survey of nearly 4,300 readers, indicates, though career-oriented black service members strongly favored the Democratic Party candidate. McCain, R-Ariz., handily defeated Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., 68 percent to 23 percent in a voluntary survey of 4,293 active-duty, National Guard and reserve subscribers and former subscribers to Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times." "Officers and enlisted troops, active-duty members and reservists, those who have served in combat and those who haven’t, all backed McCain by large margins, to about the same extent they supported President Bush four years ago." And the article does point out that: "Nearly eight out of 10 black service members indicated they intend to vote for Obama despite his lack of military service and despite McCain’s record as a naval aviator and prisoner of war in Vietnam." Which doesn't surprise me - it's only natural they would support Obama. http://www.militarytimes.com/news/2008/10/mil... |

Credentials. It's so funny. So many folks who claim to have something going in the upper story are influenced by people with so-called "credentials." Some talking head said it therefore it must be true. Like this nonsense concerning how the military man/woman feels as to who should be president of the United States.
Is anybody home? Military personell are not free to talk about a whole lot of things. There's nothing new about that. Of course I don't believe anything said by any media source that is remotely connected to the Mainstream Media and that includes the military newspapers. The Associated Press will not tell me the truth about anything concerning not only the military but it will put out whatever the powers that be insist they put out. Young Loretta knows this is true and young Loretta considers herself very well informed. No credentials necessary. If it sounds right it is right. No three legged stool to sit on and pour lies out on a nightly basis. Anybody could do that. Just be informed by the proper people and they'll show you how to misinform the general public. Your producers and directors can tell the general public all about your "credentials." The "informed" people out there will buy it hook, line and sinker. And they'll call themselves informed. Never questioning their sources. So be it. I will never speak of my credentials. It is gross foolishness to speak of credentials. In my opinion. Almost all talk of credentials is perfect nonsense. |

1 I'm in Cabell County.... just FYI. Luckily, people have "seen through the smear attempt".... Charleston Gazette-- Palin twists remarks on coal by Obama, supporters say The McCain campaign is trying to sway coal state voters by selectively quoting from a 10-month-old interview to allege that Obama plans to "bankrupt the coal industry" with his plan to limit greenhouse gas emissions. By Ken Ward Jr. Staff writer CHARLESTON, W.Va.-- The McCain campaign is trying to sway coal state voters by selectively quoting from a 10-month-old interview to allege that Obama plans to "bankrupt the coal industry" with his plan to limit greenhouse gas emissions. Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin kicked off the last-minute attack Sunday during an appearance in Marietta, Ohio. At about the same time, clips of select portions of Obama's January comments to the San Francisco Chronicle surfaced on conservative blogs and Web sites. But Obama campaign officials, and Chronicle editors, said the Illinois senator's remarks were taken greatly out of context. And, the "cap-and-trade" carbon dioxide control plan Obama advocates is one of the generally accepted proposals for trying to deal with climate change - and a plan that Republican John McCain has also embraced. Joseph Romm, a former Clinton Energy Department official and physicist who writes the Climate Progress blog, conceded "an inartful choice of words by Obama." "But fundamentally, his remarks reflect an accurate understanding of the impact - indeed, the goal - of serious climate regulations, if we ever get around to them," Romm wrote in a Monday-morning blog post. Instead of quoting news articles, let's look at what people in the military have to say.
Presidential Decision 2008 message board http://forums.military.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f... The following articles each have their own discussion page. I particularly liked some of the points raised in the last one. Why I Will Not Vote for John McCain, by Philip Butler, who knew him from the Naval Academy and as a POW. http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,16485... Chuck Norris: McCain Too Old to be President http://www.military.com/NewsContent/0,13319,1... I can't believe people are still whining here. The people have spoken, we have a new President. Deal with it, everyone stop crying and whining.
The man hasn't even been sworn on yet and everyone is whining like little babies. Give the man a chance before you cry. We've been through a rough 8 years and personally, I don't think he, nor anyone could do a worse job than Bush has done. |

Ok, fair enough. But, what about Joe Biden saying in Ohio about 2 months ago at a campaign rally while on the rope line... "NO NEW COAL POWER PLANTS". Or does that not count too until it is too late and Coal has a cap and trade placed on it by Obama/Biden and my power bill goes higher than my mortgage? These are some real dangerous people we just put into power. |

I'm much better off than 8 years ago. Let's see were we are in 4 more years. It will be interesting - but don't get your hopes up too much, they might get dashed.

My father just passed away. He was a vet. The VA Hospital had hospice to come in his home for the last month of his life. After he died my mother went to them and ask them about the VA fund. They told her that since he was not in a VA hospital or a VA nursing home that they would not pay for anything. This is so sad. My parent have nothing and for him to lay down his life for this country and ask for a little help and get she shaft is beyond me. I just thought that I would let these vets know. Thanks for listening.
