Are the officers' drug and alcohol tests back yet? You probably wouldn't tell us that anyways! I hope the passenger is doing well. Thanks YDR for giving us useless info.

What is wrong with this story? The person hurt the most was the INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEND GUILTY ---ALLEGED DUI ---YOUNG man. Apparently, neither the police nor the editors at the York Newspaper Company (read BOTH YDR and Dispatch) care about this poor victim. Sure we are GLAD that the officer is out of rehab and at home, but what about the other victim? I hope that he remembers all the attention, concern and well wishes he received from the NYCRPD, and the rest of law enforcement, when he finally decides to sue them all. The police are of one mind set, the BLUE WALL
and concern about each other. Frankly, they should all be ashamed of themselves. The newspapers should at least attempt to advise the public about the other victim, but, of course, since he is an
alleged DUI driver, he is of no concern. Well, I would like to know how he is doing. I wish him well. I wish his parents and family well. I hope that he recovers fast and completely. Anyone agree with me?

Welcome home Officer Groff. From reading all the comments here it seems to me that each and every one has most likely had a run in with law enforcement sometime in their lives. Judge not lest you be judged-nuff said!

No. They are just sick of "law enforcement" being above the law. I've seen what you can get away with ...with a badge.

There's nothing wrong with THIS story.

There should be other stories about the other victims of this accident - the guy driving the box truck that this guy rammed, the guy in the back seat of the patrol car, and the driver of the car that ran into the patrol car. Maybe they are precluded from running stories for lack of information. HIPAA protects patient privacy, you know.

I'd guess it has more to do with York County than with HIPAA. Cops don't do a lot wrong in York County. Just ask Lillie Belle Allen's family.

I agree. I want to see the 'cops policing cops' report whenever it comes out. I am sure this jerk will be squeaky clean. I just wonder if he will visit his backseat passenger since he negligently broke his pelvis. Or is he of the Seibert/Tome mentality, no apology necessary.
...and if he does visit his 'suspect' will he be admitting guilt or whatever.

i also think its funny reading this because alot of you dont even know any of the facts, or any of the whole story.. so say what you want, but officer groff is an amazing person and officer who took his job very seriously. What ever happened to compassion and just being happy that everyone involved in this is alive. Each one of these individuals have family and some have children that need them..

OK This appears to be a cop out. One foot or two in the mouth without any backup?

once again, i have a life and i will not fight with anyone over this. I am thankful they are all ok. I am actually an active marine not a cop. I feel bad for both people in this situation. As i said before. I am glad they are both ok. This is the last i will write on here.

It seems as tho some people need drama and fights in their life. This is so pathetic. I only know people respond to what i wrote because i got an email. Some people need a real life... outside of terrorizing people on a computer...PS i love how people have no problem with the military fighting and dying for their freedom and will call cops the second they are in trouble but they will also be they will also be the first to tear them down.

Praying for a speedy recovery for both! Its unfortunate that accidents happen and from the looks of the pictures it doesnt look like either should have survived. Lets remember that both families have people that may read these comments and act like humans and have compassion on them both. Im sure both families are going through a great amount of pain. God was looking after both of these men. I wish nothing but the best to you both
