FOLLOW THE MONEY for 2.5 BILLION DOLLAR project.
Alternatives including the state's actual job-REPAIR and MAINTENANCE of the roads and bridges. That means you learn to fix pot holes and cracks in a timely manner and not year or two later. Sitting holes and cracks only get worse and are susceptible to water and freeze-thaw damage along with creating debris which will be dragged/tracked by vehicles acting like sand paper on glass causing more problems.
Route 1 which is on the project list is riddled with cracks, pot holes and buckling roads from Springfield to Middletown Township/Granite Run mall. Why not patch the holes and cracks and put expansion joints or tar in seems where the road is buckling. Why wait to turn it into a extreme makeover or re-do/repave.
This also means REPAIRS need to be done on bridges as soon as possible rather than wait to replace or rehab the entire bridge. IF nothing else you would figure that means routine painting, fixing cracks immediately to prevent water trickling down and causing more problems.
Actual timely REPAIRS and MAINTENANCE and NOT major projects and/or extreme makeover re-dos.
FOLLOW THE MONEY and motivations on this 2.5 BILLION dollar bill one year prior to a huge election.
