It really is about whether we will continue having a majority rule democracy or rule by the loudest mouth, dim witted and strongest arm minority.. I believe majority rule will prevail.
McCain is right, tea party republikans are on a "fools mission".
Lindsay Graham said yesterday that "republicans are in free fall and democrats aren't far behind." At least two republicans remain whose brains are not pathologically consumed with stupid.

Contained in your fact are phrases of "is looking to" and "WOULD collect the tax" . Possibly you recognize that this hasn't happened yet. I do not doubt that Obama would try this, but I think it will fail because of Article I section 7 of the US constitution which says--"All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives and the Senate, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States." If the republikans were to succeed in their effort to overthrow the government, Obama could act as necessary to restore order because he is commander in chief of the military.
Obama has the job of running OUR government. Republikans have constantly tried, unsuccessfully, to cause Obama to fail at his job. Not being able to cause Obama to fail at his job of fixing the republican depression, republikans are now trying to cause OUR government itself to fail. I view this latest republican effort to overthrow OUR government as seditious . Republikans are lucky Obama is president instead of me.

<quoted text>Just one "FACT" for you. "President Barack Obama is looking to unilaterally impose a $5-per-year tax on all cellphone users to avoid asking a recalcitrant Congress for funding.
The Washington Post first reported the story Tuesday.
The Federal Communications Commission, an independent agency headed by three Obama appointees, would collect the tax, tacking on an additional charge to devices already subject to local, state and federal fees, along with sales taxes. Obama himself has openly discussed his willingness to bypass Congress whenever he is particularly insistent on implementing a part of his domestic agenda. In a July interview with The New York Times, the president said he feels he may need to both create and execute the law.“I will seize any opportunity I can find to work with Congress to strengthen the middle class, improve their prospects, improve their security,” Obama said.”But where Congress is unwilling to act, I will take whatever administrative steps that I can in order to do right by the American people.”
Congress, the president continued, can publicly express its disagreement, but made no mention of “legislative steps” the legislative body could take.
“And if Congress thinks that what I’ve done is inappropriate or wrong in some fashion, they’re free to make that case. But there’s not an action that I take that you don’t have some folks in Congress who say that I’m usurping my authority. Some of those folks think I usurp my authority by having the gall to win the presidency. And I don’t think that’s a secret,” Obama said.“But ultimately, I’m not concerned about their opinions — very few of them, by the way, are lawyers, much less constitutional lawyers.”
Soooo, I guess Congress has nothing to do with gov. spending, now anyway. Obama does as he pleases. After all your not a "constitutional lawyer" are you?

Only from the standpoint of finances, the idiots have not considered the effect of default on debt. Interest rates will likely at least double immediately after default. That alone will finish off our economy and republikans will have achieved their goal of joining the Peoples Republic of China. How much voice in government operations will they have then? Then let them try their juvenile antics. Talk about f 'ed with a capitol F!!

It does not surprise me that your are confused about the difference between weather and climate. Many of the most ardent purveyors of climate change are trying to use weather to prove their point and therefore understandably the uninformed confuse weather and climate. In our culture of polls, popular opinion has wrongly become the test of truth. I even suspect that many think that if you can sway popular opinion, you can change the truth. But, no matter how strongly you BELIEVE, the truth cannot be changed. The truth is--temperature is a local weather metric, melting and freezing are mid range regional weather metrics, sea level changes on the other hand are long range global climate metrics. I do not expect belief or even understanding of that. I just let it out in case the lights are on somewhere out there.

Unlike TSF, I'm pretty sure these guys know EXACTLY what will happen in default.Their own finances will be threatened. If I'm smart enough to have already considered the interest rate results of default, I think these college boys should as well. You can damn well bet the Chinese know what will happen.

Its pretty clear the republikans have taken a hard hit, scoring a humiliating victory over themselves. What is now happening is they are trying to save face and find an excuse for their stupidity. You can tell what is happening in Washington by what is happening on Wall Street because not even one congressman burps without Wall Street's knowledge. Right now Dow -40.7, Nasdaq -4.46, S&P -4.89. That seems to indicate no progress and continued bickering. With stocks generally down over the course of this republican shut down, you will know when it is resolved with soaring stock prices in general.

It seems your party has a lot of problems and divisions. I just hope you run one of the tea party favorites (possibly Palin, Cruz, Ryan or Paul) in 2016. See if you can get that done for us. Waco has already come out for Cruz and hopes to bring Taxpayer with him. Which one do you like?( no all of the above allowed, please) Thanks Pro.

Let us see if the professional politicians on the left and right can reach consensus, as Wall Street begins its slide to Perdition.I would suggest that if both sides gave just a small bit thus could be resolved.Republicans will fund Obamacare, I doubt if they will give up sequester cuts.Dems will never loosen their grip on health care, but if there is compromise to be reached, it will be on sequester cuts.
