EAST ST. LOUIS — The last of three people convicted of federal child sex charges was sentenced in court here Monday to life in prison, federal prosecutors said.
Tabitha D. Robinson, 33, of Midlothian, Ill., got a life term, the same sentence that Louise Helen Masulla, 32, formerly of Alton, and William Milligan, 28, of Bloomington, Ind., received last week. The three were involved in a conspiracy to produce and share child pornography and also engaged in sex acts with children, court documents say. Masulla and Milligan originally met in an online chat room. He introduced her to Robinson. The three later met in Terre Haute, Ind., on Aug. 8, 2008, with two girls, ages 3 and 11, and engaged in sexual activity, photographing some of it, court documents show. All three pleaded guilty to the charges in April. Robinson pleaded guilty of conspiracy to produce child pornography and conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. Milligan pleaded guilty of conspiracy to produce child pornography, conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and receipt of child pornography. Masulla, who later moved to New Athens, Ill., pleaded guilty of conspiracy to produce child pornography, conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, aggravated sexual abuse and transport of child pornography. Masulla, who is mentally and emotionally troubled, was herself sexually abused as a child and cooperated with investigators from the beginning, lawyer Steve Welby said to District Judge G. Patrick Murphy while arguing for a sentence of less than life. Bob Herman, the lawyer for Robinson, said all of the defendants suffered abuse in their childhood. "The judge was not sympathetic to that," he said THANK YOU!! |
