History of Chattaroy

My grandparents owned the little grocery store in Chattaroy that is now the office for a lumber firm. Does anyone remember the MacAulays? Or anything about the owners of the store since 1952?

My truck broke down in front of that store one time.

the name chattaroy comes from our native indians, not sure which tribe,mingoes, senecas, or tutelo, i was told this many years ago by a man named R. B. Gross.

The lumber firm takes good care of the building where the store had been.
August 2014: I met a pleasant couple in Republic about 2004: Bruce and Wendy McAuley.
