The Rosedale store has been there in one form or another since the '80s. Before that it was the Rose Bowl.

Didn't know they had any stores here anyway. Technology moves forward, and their business model is obsolete. I stopped going to blockbuster about 10 years ago when they started gouging with their late fees.

Tried standing in below freezing weather to rent a movie from Redbox, finally gave up becauee the person at the front of the line couldn't make up their mind and I could no longer feel my fingers. Netflix...ya, like I plan ahead to watch a movie! Cable not in the budget.

When Hollywood Video closed in my neighborhood, I was lost. Remembered a Movie Gallery somewhat nearby and signed up. Now it hints at these chains closing. Geez, why does everything have to be so complicated.

That IS correct! When I used to go a video store I saw NOTHING I'd like to watch, even if it was free. The problem IS Hollywood. Not the stores.

Internet RULES! Love the late-breaking news and in-depth stories that you can't get from headline-hitting CNN and Foxy Loxy Schmoozes. It is great to be able to just sit here at the computer and look at the FULL STORY after the headlines.

All broadcast media is nothing more than a headline service. The cable schmooze sources are like cluttery grocery ads or the throwaway ads you get in your mailbox. Cable gives you headlines with a gadzillion of cluttered promos in-between ads.

And so guess what? It's no news that cable news is losing it's audience to DUH/guess what -- internet news, which is full of junky ads and promos, too. But it DOES deliver the news NOW.

Now back to 77 Sunset Strip, followed by Rawhide.

:) I've been there, too! Long fricking lines. And we only watch old movies anyway. So we go right to the internet and they sell VHS copies. Yes, we have the one and only tried and proven bulletproof format -- VHS.

. The only Redbox in the neighborhood, I was aware of is at Walgreens outside. But there is a Cub nearby so will check into it. Thanks for the information.
