I feel for the families of the victims. It's too bad everyone has to know about the purported "swingers club", when it's only a theory at this point. Seems odd that "investigators" would be sharing this information with the media within 24 hrs of the crimes. It adds a level of intrigue or interest to the sad story that shouldn't be. Shame on Sherburne Co. investigators.

I agree... the media doesn't care one iota for the people in their communities, only about their ratings. IT's sickening.

I didn't know the husband and wife, but I personally knew Rory as he was our accountant for several years. He was a good and kind man and will be greatly missed in our community. My thoughts and prayers are with both families. I especially feel for the son who found his parents.

My heart goes out to all families and friends involved. This is tragic.

Without trying to be uncouth, I do have an honest question: Why was there jealousy involved? I thought the purpose of being a swinger is that you sleep around with whomever and everyone knows about it and no one cares about who sleeps with whom and everyone is ok with it?

Just from what I gathered from the article, it sounds like the wife and her boyfriend met in a swingers chatroom. It sounds as if the husband was not privy to her lifestyle.

ah, bad decisions have bad consequences. Good decisions, often have good consequences.

What won't some people do to satisfy their disordered desires....hmmmmm?

At least he remembered to mow the lawn and tidy up the place a bit before they left. Thanks, Dad.

Reading it again, that makes sense, Aequitas. I think I automatically assumed that all swingers were in open agreement with their lifestyles with their spouses. I can see that there can be very serious problems when one spouse is involved in it and the other choses not to be.

Yep, that pretty much sums up the way the world works. Too many people never figure it out.

Why should the investigators or the media be ashamed? They're just calling 'em as they sees 'em. Obviously neither Ms. Heald nor Mr. Zitur thought there was anything wrong with what they were doing, so what's the big deal about it being in the paper? It's o.k. to feel sorry for the victims' families on the murder-suicide part, but as for the "swingers club" part Ms. Heald and Mr. Zitur voluntered for that.

this is a very sad situation as we know all three victims and thier families. Yes, they were swingers all three of them. No rory was not married(divorced) but has children. Gary and Deloris(dede) have three children and grandchildren whom we know.

All three parties belong to a swinger site and a swinger campground here in MN. They have even been on vacations together. THey have known each other for at least five years and quite a few of the family members have met Rory. Even though they most likely did not know what was going on.

I could be wrong, but I thought "swingers" consisted of both people in the relationship partaking in sex with other people. I don't think it is just one side.

Sounds like perhaps the wife and the other guy were taking it a little farther than the husband wanted and he snapped. Who knows?

Interesting. Anybody got any background on Ms. Heald?
