I was a member a couple of years back and the owners were really arrogant, it was a meat head gym and they tried to shove personal training down every ones throat

Hey! I have worked with my personal trainer for 4 months now and lost 60 pounds! So, if you felt like you got "shoved" into training, thats unfortunate. I was in denial and didn't want anyone to tell me what I "needed" to do, but now I am sooo glad I did! Maybe you need someones help also, just saying is all!

I am currently going there but thinking of moving to the YMCA which is opening in September. I'm fine with their equipments but crappy locker room and shower. They said that they are moving across the street to a bigger place but I heard that it might be a scam to get more memberships. They said that new building is coming in fall 2008 but construction has not begin yet. It is kind of fishy to me.

I am a member there also, I also know the developers that are working on the project. Landcor is delaying there project, it isn't the club. If you have worked with Landcor before, this is typical unfortunately. I know first hand wirh our business.... yuck, great club tho

Do they have a pool? Does anyone know about what the membership rates are? I trying to decide which to join, Fitness Zone or the new YMCA.

Suze I just joined Fitness Zone over YMCA, I pay $29.95 per month at Fitness Zone and it was $60 at the YMCA just for me! Yikes!

The YMCA has a great facility! But it really hurts the pocket book! With the economy the way it is right now, I'm happy to join somewhere cheaper, weather that's the fitness zone or snap. Not anytime fitness though!

Even though the Y might cost a bit more, at least you can feel confident that your membership will be intact, and no HIDDEN fees, and think of all the programs for the kids... Have you seen theh place?? It's pretty nice for families... just skip the Latte's at Caribou and you should have more than enough to cover the cost...

at the Y $120 for a family membership?! I don't care how nice it is, my family can get in shape for a lot less somewhere else. Our pennies are pinced already!

Surely you aren't talking about Fitness 101. I am a member and they haven't even opened the club in Anoka and the building is done. I don't know what is going on. How can the new club in Otsego open this fall when their isn't anything on the land yet.

Fitness Zone/Fitness 101 is now running a food drive, if you bring in 2 non perishable food items they will wave half of the enrollment fee. We just joined there today and me and my wife are paying $49 a month for both of us! If you go there tell them Chuck sent you!

I checked out both health clubs. The "y" is nice and new, but I decided to join Fitness Zone instead. It is a lot more affordable than the "y", and being a member at a lot of different health clubs throughout my life, a lot of stuff at huge health clubs I dont really use anyway. I pay only $29.95 /mo at Fitness Zone. When I went to the "y" the monthly rate was $60 bucks just for a single. I've only been a member for a couple weeks now, but so far I love the friendly atmosphere at Fitness Zone. The front desk already knows me by name! How cool is that!!??

It's a shame that a great place like Fitness Zone has to work with a terrible company like Landcor...
