Horrible accident. I hope this doesn't mean that the family is going to sue the lawnmower manufacturer because they were negligent in not making the lawnmower more truck-loading friendly.

So... a guy dies trying to load a riding mower onto a truck, yet a guy that does a sailor dive into an industrial wood chipper lives. That sucks, man.

I was driving home Monday on Highway 10 around 2:00 PM. About two miles east of Big Lake I saw the Sherburne County Sheriff putting up that yellow tape on the property of a guy that sells boats, tractors, cars, etc.

At first I was thinking "stolen property." I'm sorry to hear the real reason and that his family can find peace.

I happened to find this gentleman. I as traveling down highway 10 looked across the freeway and saw something I did not think was right. yes that was my blue suv in the ditch. we did recieve a wonderful card from his family. we are very sorry for thier loss. I just wish I had gone by a little sooner and could have helped him.

I feel for the family, but I have a garden tractor also and it clearly states if you read the instructions on how to load & unload them properly. I have followed those instructions many times and never had the slightest problem loading or unloading from any vehicle/trailer.

That was my father, I thank you for stopping and trying to help. The investigator told me that in 18 years of law enforcement, he hasnt ever seen anything like this accident. It was a freak accident that happened very quickly. My dad was a wonderful father and grandfather. I miss him every day. Thank you
