I'm suprised it's taken 30 years for someone to invest in a new refinery. We always hear about them creating bottlenecks but no one builds them. I wonder why. I wonder if the gorillas like Exxon or BP oppose new refiniries.

It was about time that somebody would foresee that this area needs more diversified jobs, I for one, moved into this area hoping we sould find everythng we would not in a bigger city (peace, quiet, no crime, friendly people) so far we have not been dissaponted in that regard, it is when we talk about fields of employment diversification when we feel cheated. If you are not in the farming or trucking bussiness, packing or dairy, you stay out of job or you'd find jobs out of the city (200+ miles), it is very frustrating and stressfull. Don't mind me wrong, we love the city of SC, IA and surroundings but there's not many choices when you are an AutoCad drafter as my husband is, he has many years of experience in oil and hydrolics, mechanical drafting, besides being knowledgeable on MAC and other software and he does not have a job and i know it will take him months before he finds one related to whatever he's capable of doing; so if you thing about Gorilla Project, we certaily hope that the threat of many Elk Point residents about selling their homes if Hyperion builds a refinery there may hurt the possibility for the area to grow diverse and will keep thousands of people from getting a good pay job. Thanks for the space.
