What fact did I get wrong? None. She may be an amazing person to you, that does not change the FACT that she did a terrible thing. As a teacher, she is and should be held to a high standard. Her actions are completely unacceptable.
The fact that you got wrong was that the football players were ineligble. The grades she changed did not make them eligible or ineligible. Therefore, it would appear that he husband has nothing to do with it and that her motives weren't about athletics. What her motives are, only she knows right now (or so she says). What you say is true. Her actions are unacceptable and she should be held to a higher standard. However, don't blame the husband and don't blame athletics until it's been proven.

Yes, it's important to teach our kids good values, and good language.

First of all, I was not referring to your comment. I agree kudos to the district for reporting it. It is wrong to automatically assume because she is married to the footbal coach he was involved. That is NOT true. She did do a terrible thing, but we are human and we all make mistakes. Teachers ARE held to a higher standard, and should be. I just think her good charachter in the past, which is not just my opnion, should be taken into consideration.
Agreed, we should all be held accountable for our actions, because we have ALL made stupid choices. Her's have just been made public. She is being held responsible. Let's also remember that we need to look in the mirror before we jump on the accusation band wagon. I don't even know her, but I know many of the Antioch students. I am a mother myself, and would want my children to know that that was wrong, but It is MY responsibility to teach my children integrity. They will be faced with good and bad the rest of their lives. It is our responsibility at home, to show them how to behave and that even "good" people make mistakes.

Don't you just love it when one person takes over the forum to berate anyone who's opinion differs from theirs?
1) The woman was charged with a crime.
2) She might be a "good" woman and teacher but this has no bearing on the fact that she committed a crime.
3) Evidently this is not the first time she has committed a crime or made a "mistake"
4) I have children myself and would want them to know that there are consequences when a crime is committed.

I agree with "Antioch res" with the Dolton, IL IP address.

I also wanted to ad that Sara is a product of Generation Y, an "eighties baby". Baby boomers gave too much to this generation. Some born in Generation Y seem to take longer to grow up, have entitlement tendencies and think consequences do not apply to them. They are tech-savvy and rely on it to perform their jobs better. They prefer text messaging and e-mail rather than face-to-face. They were nurtured and pampered by parents who did not want to make the mistakes of the previous generation. Generation Y is confident, ambitious and achievement-oriented. Their means may not be understood by previous generations.

I totally agree with Sequoit Mom.
By her actions, this *educator* has now caused a shadow of doubt to be cast over the town, the football program, and the students involved, who will now have to defend the grades they achieved.
Thanks for giving other towns a reason to throw crap at our schools and programs. Stupid [email protected]%. I hope they make an example of you.
Actually i throw crap at the Fox Lake School so you must not be refering to me.( not literally just figuratively )
But in truth all these schools have bad teachers.

i have found this link useful for writing e-mails to the teachers or staff at Grant.
Not that it has ever really helped them to improve.
They are beyond help.
But at least it gives a parent a chance to e-mail a teacher instead of being on hold forever.
