Also, havent you said unkind things to Sublime and Edogxxx?

Edog. Always with a smiley face and with the words "that's why we love you". Does he count?

Sub is the one calling people names and being rude to me, not me to him. So I ignore.

Okay -- maybe not "always" telling him that's why we love you but enough times in some form or fashion to know that I realize he's just that way.

I'm getting a kick out of people trying to change his mind on whether or not he's a bigot, though.

Does it matter if Edog admits it? He's not going to understand nor change his stance on gay people.

I guess.[smirk]

I suppose to disagree and get into it with someone once or twice is one thing (or three or four times) is one thing but who wants to snipe at people everyday? I love a debate but someone sniping isn't debating.

He will, once he comes fully out of the closet.
He just wants to make sure we will be accepting of his sexuality, and not make fun of him once he does.

I hear ya... the name-calling gets to me sometimes, so I don't participate when things get really nasty.

I'm not having anything both ways. I can say that the vast majority (not all ... see www.rif.org ) of folks who are anti-gay are religious, but not all religious folks are anti-gay. That's not having it both ways. Is this a hard concept to understand, i.e. that the vast majority, doesn't mean all?
Yes, you ARE having it both ways! First of all, an 'exit poll' does NOT mean that every single person who voted is expressing their views- only those who didn't mind being bothered by the pollsters on their way out of the polling place and some of them may have lied about how they voted and why JUST to skew with the pollsters heads. Also, it's a bit of a leap to claim that just because someone voted against legalizing gay marriage is equal to them actively hating gay folks. Some folks may simply believe that marriage should stay a traditional man/woman deal but have no problems with any other interactions re gays. To say that one 'hates' someone because one didn't vote for something they wanted makes as much sense as saying ALL folks who oppose folks under 21 drinking MUST hate children and want them segregated and/or exterminated.
Even if your claim that the majority of anti-gay folks are religious is true [and the basis for this seems to be more finding dubious stats to justify your own prejudices] that does NOT mean that THIS particular couple who dissed gays ARE religious. Oh, and BTW,'fundie' to religious folks as about as offensive as the term 'f - a - g' is to gay folks so maybe it's time to look in the mirror re trying to stop one indulging one's own prejudices before getting upset with others being prejudices.

Fundie is simply short for 'fundamentalist," and if it's an accurate label, I see no problem in using it. Fundamentalists and evangelicals think it's their god-given duty to preach their religion to everybody else, including Christians of different sects/branches. They also tend to support government-backed religion, but only if it's THEIR particularly flavor of Christianity.

So "Fundie" is as good as it's going to get from me for that group.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Aquarius

Watch out if you're going shopping, because you'll be tempted to splash out on impulse buys. This doesn't matter so much if you're feeling flush, but it could cause problems if you're supposed to be counting every penny. Whatever the state of your finances, you may buy items you don't need and possibly even won't like when you look at them again tomorrow.
