Greatness without cheating would be good. How many recruits will want to go there and not play in a bowl?

NDIANAPOLIS -- Former Tennessee coaches Bruce Pearl and Lane Kiffin finally got to explain themselves in front of the NCAA.

All they can do now is wait to see if it did any good.

More greatness, UsuckC gets rid of one cheater and hires another. Downfall of Troy, priceless!

They won't sign officially until Feb 2012. It's way too early to judge a class now. Those recruits are free to go anywhere til they sign Feb. 12'. USC will lose some of them and lose a lot more. They will have limited scholarships and will go down hill. It will take years to recover. NFL doesn't care what college you come from. Now we know why USC had so many good players, they were paying them.

They did have a great class for 2011 on paper. Too bad none of them will play in a Bowl game. And with restrictions on recruiting the next few years and a watchful eye, they won't be able to pay them anymore, so where will they end up? How many will leave? They got rid of one cheater coach and brought in another one, how funny. The program has no class. If USC starts losing in a couple of years, the fans will stop attending. They go hand in hand with the program.

Funny how you are isolate this phenomenon with USC. That applies to just about all programs and drops in attendance for bad performance. Except at USC, an 8 win season is considered below standard where many schools would give their right nut to win 8 games in a season. Aside from that, you sound like the typical naysayer that reeks of jealous hate

That is correct my friend! And it is funny how all these fools like to project the Trojan demise for many years to come. Has not happened yet and I will believe it WHEN I see it! Not project ahead on whimsical beliefs...Kind of like (B)ruin fans proclaim every year that THIS is the year they will be good. LMFAO

It doesn't apply to all programs. All programs are under the watch of the NCAA. Some other programs like Ohio State are in trouble. Fans not attending applies to Pac ten teams, not once u get on the other side of the Rockies and go east. Im not jealous, i feel sorry for usc, they are going down hill, they got busted. Those wins are tarnished, they cheated. Other teams don't cheat.

Losing scholarships, no bowl games, limited time on practice. Are u serious? will they walk on and buy their books? lol...

If you call the current NCAA rules in place for student/athletes and everything they do away from the university cheating, then yes they ALL cheat. You should thank USC for being the piper who paid the price and alerted ALL the other schools (Ohio State was too arrogant) to watch their back from the NCAA cronies. Again, ON THE FIELD we kicked ahss and THAT had nothing to do with bad decisions players made off the filed, away from the team and the university!

I repeat for those Topix posters who cannot grasp simple facts or rise above biased hate:

USC still won 8 games last season (bowl level caliber)
USC had the 4th best 2011 signing day (besides being on probation)

Wake me when something actually happens to be considered demise instead of the usual Topix unfounded conjecture

What do they do? They don't have to pay a dime for their education, free food housing books tuition....what does that cost? Now on top of that do u want to pay them? Now because USC got caught, they all cheated? Nice logic, go back to usc and take some logic classes.

There are a lot of teams that won 8 games last year with tougher schedules. I'm not going to say USC doesn't have good teams, they sit right in a talent pool. But they got slapped hard, The talent is looking elsewhere. Scholarships are worth a lot of money and when you add food, housing...worth a lot. Kiffin is still trying to clean up his mess he left in the South. But it seems Bush was worth more to carrol then honor. Glad USC got busted, time to play like everyone else.

USC is ranked #20 in preseason. They are in a weak conference. They had no defense last year and won't be much better this year. They are slowing going down. Nobody will care about them this year, they are playing for nothing.

I sure hope the rest of the country thinks like you do, so we can come in under the radar and show you and everyone else that our team is quality not quantity. We did not have the 4th best signing day in the NCAA this year for nothing! All the 4 and 5 star recruits come to us because they want to transverse into the NFL. Those other recruits you are talking about looking elsewhere are 3 star players that stumble into Westwood and play for the (B)ruins. LMAOUSC - WE FIGHT ON AND SHOCK THE NAYSAYERS

USC has had on paper the top recruits for years. The rankings of High School players is a guess. Go to espn, look where the top recruits of 4 years ago ended up. Some made it, most didn't pan out. It doesn't mean as much as u like. When Tom Osborne had great teams in the 90's they were a lot of 2 star recruits. Boise State doesn't recruit the top recruits. I will admit on paper USC looks good, on the field they are down hill. How many of those recruits will transfer not ever playing in a Bowl game? How many receivers can USC keep happy? How come USC had such a lousy defense last year with all those 5 star recruits? what happened?

That happens with almost every program. You never know what type of recruit you're getting, regardless of ranking, until they step on the field. And since when will the 2011 Trojans recruits never play in a Bowl Game? If my memory stands correct, they'll be back in postseason play next year.

Scholarship limits will prohibit USC from signing more than 15 players in their next three recruiting classes and the provision that allows Trojans seniors to transfer to another FBS school without sitting out the usual one-year penalty will remain.

The NCAA threw the book at storied Southern California on Thursday with a two-year bowl ban, four years' probation, loss of scholarships and forfeits of an entire year's games for improper benefits to Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush dating to the Trojans' 2004 national championship.

So if they can manage without injuries and players leaving, I stand to be corrected they will have 2 bowl games.

My response regarding the High School player rankings was because of the bragging about how high of a ranked class USC has coming in as Frosh this year. 2 year Bowl ban.

I'm sure they will still have a winning record this year with the weak schedule they have.

Carroll dirties the program wins by cheating and then leaves, USC hires another dirt bag as their coach, priceless!
