Is it just me or is anyone else out there sick of these idiots. In the old days kids would race stoplight to stoplight, nowadays they race for miles on end until they nail something along the way. I heard that somwhere they were taking cars of people convicted of street racing and putting them on a compactor at the local junk yard, maybe that's the way to go.

You are correct Pab, Sac PD was finally approved this spring to follow in the foot steps of SD an LA PD. When authorities catch you red-handed in illegal street racing, your vehicle will be impounded and listed for destruction the following week. There is no way to save your vehicle from destruction, regardless if its worth $2000 or $50000. You get caught, you lose your car.

Laws need to be changed a bit to be more severe and punish those who think they can do what they see in the movies. I for one having learned from my past mistakes and thankfully not harming anyone or anything in the process see things in a different way. We need to educate the new drivers and find a way to punish repeat offenders harder. Currently my team and all sponsors are working on a plan to submit to CHP to see if we can make something happen to help curb this problem that has gone completely out of conrtol.

To the Mondragon family, I wish them well and hope that justice will be served.

I think that it is about time they start taking care of these young street racers that have no concern for the innocent drivers on the roads. What do the parents think of their children that "kill" innocent victims? How can these kids sleep at night, knowing that they took someone else's life out of stupidity. If their cars are destroyed when caught racing then the next time they are caught racing again, they need to go to jail. We as parents need to find a way to keep them off the streets.

Its very obivous you think you know all the details and clearly you dont I wont defend what happened but the media has lied and blown so many of the real facts out of context that people like you choose to just believe what they are told and make judgements on lies and misinformation. The facts are this young man is not a thug as portrayed but a CSUS student working full time from a good moral family that screwed up.......period

I myself went to school with Clinton and watched his slow but sure decline...We always told him that he would kill someone the way he drove, and he did. He deserves to be punished, but even coming from someone who he personally was not very nice to, it is hard to see. Clinton has a good heart in there and actually used to be a nice guy, but like many chose to hang out with the WRONG people who accepted him into there circle. They corrupted him, they are EVIL people. They are the kind of kids who did not even get a GED and have no so sort of future but causing trouble, the kind that video tape the horrible things they do to people...watch it later in laugh. Since I have known them, that is what they do. I pray that they too (all the boys in Clintons car) also end up in jail, for there numerous crimes. I also pray that Clinton gets a stiff punishment, he did take a life...But also that he eventually gets to see he was given a second chance and possibly tap in to that heart that I know is in there and do something positive with his life

RICK, IF THIS WAS YOUR CHILD THAT HE KILLED, YOU WOULD BE SINGING ANOTHER TUNE!! SOUNDS LIKE THIS CLINTON HAS PRIOR RACING/SPEEDING TICKETS, I SAY, THROW THE BOOK AT HIM AND LET HIM HAVE YEARS IN STATE PRISON TO THINK ABOUT THE LIFE HE SNUFFED OUT. I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR CLINTON'S PARENTS, THE APPLE DOESN'F FALL FAR FROM THE TREE!! I HOPE I'M ON THE JURY....I PRAY CLINTON GETS WHAT HE DESERVED...HE ALREADY HAD ONE YEAR TOO LONG OF FREEDOM...LOCK HIM AWAY, LET'S SEE HOW "TOUGH" HE ACTS IN PRISON WITH THE "BIG BOYS". HE WILL BE ONE THOSE "BIG BOYS" PIECE OF CANDY!!!

Ivonne, I don't have the words to express how much I feel for you and your son Chris. It is heartbreaking to think of the suffering you have endured, yet miraculous that you have kept your faith in God throughout this time! Your trust in him was never misplaced, even if you had doubt for a short period of time. You are more right than you know about your son Anthony. He was put on this earth for reasons beyond what any of us can know. It is so painful to think of the loss that you have had to experience, so that others might be taught. You will see your son again. He is with you and Chris always, and the angels will continue to watch over you. Keep your faith and trust in the Lord, it is the only way you will be able to heal from this. Do not doubt for a moment, he has already felt your pain and anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane, and again on the cross at Calvary. I will pray for you and for your son Chris, that you might be able to feel the weight lifted from you.

DEAR READERS, I AM HAPPILY TO SAY THAT IAM GLAD TO FIND OUT THAT THE KID THAT HAS TAKEN A ANGEL FROM THIS FAMILY IS FINALLY GETTING CHARGED WITH THE CHARGES AGAINST HIM, I MISS HIM DEARLY, IAM NOT IN MY AUNTS OR MY UNCLES POSITION TO FEEL THE PAIN AS SHE AND HIM HAS HAD AND IS STILL GOING THROUGH AT THIS TIME. BUT I DO FEEL PAIN OF LOSING SOME ONE CLOSE TO U , CAUSE ANTHONY RICHARD MONDRAGON IS MY COUSIN AND I REALLY MISS HIM DEARLY, ME AND ANTHONY SPENT EVERY LUNCH PERIOD DURING SCHOOL TOGETHER, WE SPENT MOSTLY EVERYDAY AFTER SCHOOL TOGETHA AT MY HOUSE OR HIS, WE SPENT EVERY WEEKENDED AT THE MALL OR AT EACH OTHERS HOUSE. CLINTON HAD TOOK A VERY CLOSE PERSON AWAY FROM THIS FAMILY, AND FROM ME BUT I AM HOPING THAT CLINTON IS GOING TO REALIZE DAT STREET RACING IS NOT SOMETHING TO DO 4 FOR FUN BECAUSE ITS NOT SOMETHING TO DO FOR FUN.PEOPLE RACE EVERYDAY AND DON'T REALIZE THAT OTHER PEOPLE R IN DANGER WHEN THEY STREET RACE.BUT IF CLITON GETS CHARGED WITH 2ND DEGREE MURDER I WOULD HOPE IT WOULD MAKE HIM REALIZE WHAT HE HAS CAUSED TO ARE FAMILY, AND MAKES HIM THINK TWICE ABOUT STREET RACING, AND ALL I CAN DO IS WISH THAT HE REALIZES WHAT HE HAS DONE. ANTHONY RICHARD MONDRAGON WILL BE MISSED!!!! AND, ANTHONY THIS IS BIANCA AND I MISS U DEARLY K U WILL NEVER B 4 GOTTEN IN LIFE I LOVE U SO MUCH AND I IAM GLAD GOD LET ME SPENT THE MOST TIME I CAN WITH U AND NO 1 IN THIS WORLD WOULD EVER TAKE THE BOND DAT ME AND U HAVE HAD AND IS STILL GOING IN SPIRIT....WELL IAM NOT GOING TO SAY GOOD BYE BECAUSE U IS STILL HERE WITH ME AND WE WILL MEET AGAIN K. i agree with rick. i dont want to know what would happen if all of you one sided idiots decided who was innocent and guilty. hi, this is america, a nation run by the media and thats the only side that you see and hear.
please get your head out of your butt and stop
1. stop believing that clint is a thug. only weeks before his arrest, he was attending school.
and 2. DO NOT blame clintons family or friends for his mistakes. every time he drove that car, it was becasue of his bad judgement and bad choices, not the choices of his family and friends.
clint's parents are the nicest people i have probably ever met. you can only control your child so much. dont you think that they wanted him to drive the speed limit?
what if this was your child, your friend, or a member of your family.
all the hate you feel towards clint and his family will not bring that poor boy back.

MATT do you know Clint personally or are you just calling him a name just curious? Let me tell you something his parents are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. Maybe before you start talking CRAP you might want to know the correct information. Oh another thing not sure if you knew this but Clint was driving the car not his parent. Clint was an adult it was his mistake.
Annon....I personally never knew Clinton, but I work with a family that played hockey with him for many years and has filled me in on what kind of person he is, and that is how I made my decision. But you are correct, I don't need to voice my opinion on some forum, that is up to the judge and jury to decide. Hopefully they will do good. As for his parents, I read in the paper about the lawsuit, and again, I know little about that, except that they are saying it was the poor victims fault that HE pulled out in front of Clinton and caused the wreck. NOT THAT CLINTON WAS DOING 100MPH!!!!

I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR CLINTON OR HIS FAMILY. WHO BOUGHT CLINTON THE CAR? WHO DIDN'T TEACH CLINTON TO OBEY THE LAWS. PEOPLE FORGET THAT CLINTON HAD PRIOR TICKETS FOR SPEEDING AND STILL THOUGHT HE WAS ABOVE THE LAW....ONLY FAMILY AND FRIENDS FEEL SORRY FOR HIM, IF THE TABLE WERE TURNED AND CLINTON KILLED ONE OF THERES, THEY WOULD FEEL JUST LIKE THE OTHER 99% THAT SAY, LET CLINTON ROTT IN STATE PRISON. I HOPE NO JURY IS FAMILY OR FRIEND AND CLINTON GET THE MAXIMUM HE CAN GET. LET ME HAVE YEARS IN JAIL TO THINK ABOUT "BEING ABOVE THE LAW". I'M SORRY, BUT AS FAR AS HIS PARENTS GO, THE FIRST TIME CLINTON CAME HOME WITH A SPEEDING TICKET, THE CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM.

You know..It amazes me that people are here stating that they think that Clint deserves the worst punishment. But did you ever realize that he didn't set out that day to take the life of another person. People make mistakes, and it's a good thing that most of you aren't the ones making the decisions about his future. MATT before you go calling someone a "MAJOR piece of crap," maybe you should take a look at yourself, and your own judgements on others and then figure out who the 'piece of crap' is. Unless you know Clinton, or the Colon family you shouldn't be saying anything really. Now, i understand that people are upset because someone did lose their life due to this accident, but like i said before..people make mistakes, and why can't that just be accepted? I'm sure he'll get the proper punishment, but what you people want are these extravagent punishments. That is uncalled for. If it was any of your children you would want the fairest punishement possible..so why is it that Clint doesn't deserve the same?

I wish people would stop blaming parents for their children's mistakes! Most parents raise their children to have morals and try to instill common sense. No matter how our parents raise us, each and every one of us make our own choices and decisions. It seems that Clinton had problems in the past with street racing but he thought he was above the law. He won't think he is so cool anymore once he is in prison. But he is young and will be out of prison one day and will have to live with his guilt and shame everyday for the rest of his life (if he has a conscious). Unfortunately, the young man he killed is gone forever and the loved ones left behind will be heartbroken forever.
I never have understood why they even build cars that can go speeds higher than speed limits....
